Joe Cole?

Joe Cole?

Postby Crossie » Mon May 21, 2012 6:50 pm

Noticed West Ham want him.

He's got 2 years left on his Liverpool deal and is back with them from Lille where he did pretty well. £130,000 a week at the moment. He's 30.

Would he be worth a few million as a Silva stand in, or actually useful Hargreaves/Pizarro back up type player? He's been reasonably happy in the past to sit on the fringes of the first team and pick up medals but play well when called upon.

He's been there and done it, no doubt he has the class and skill. He wouldn't be coming here as the main man, but I think he could do a pretty useful job over a full Champions League season.

If we sign Hazzard we won't need a stand in for Silva.

We'll have Nasri, Silva and Hazzard, plus our centre forwards, more than enough attacking talent.

West ham would be a good move for him he would be a key player for him.He might just still have a couple of good years in him if he can stop producing the sick notes.

I was watching Hazard last week & Joe Cole came on. Hazard is the player everyone hoped Joe Cole would be & has more understanding of football & vision at 21 than Joe Cole has now. Shite.

I think he would lack the pace of what we require. Nice thought though.

Reminds me of when people said we should sign Ljungberg before he went to West Ham.

Good player once, but the ship has sailed.

It must be at least five years since Joe Cole last had even decent season. And even back then I always thought he was somewhat overrated. Joe Cole always lacked determination and desire for me. If he had those, he could've been as good as David Silva.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Mate - we've won the league, sure. But please stop drinking that wine now. You've lost it, your head is all awry. Now go and sit somewhere quietly and we'll call you just before the Charity Shield.
