I've just checked the league again and nope, they definately finished 2nd.

They DID finish THEIR season in first place. Unfortunately for them the PL season finished 2 minutes later ;)

The interesting bit in the article is the estimated increase in their fanbase over the last 5 years ... they ain't on the decline with funding reserves like that. As for the 1st bollox sadly some on here were claiming we were 2nd last season ... which we were not. Gotta love the spin by Arnold thou, very fergielike

Maybe MR. Arnold should mention that before 1958 they were just an average club with average support.
