I went to one of my daily Wikipedia sessions (where I just end up reading dozens of page going fromone to another) when I ended to Robbie Fowler's Wiki page (I actually wanted to compare which one was more prolific "prodigy" when starting out for Liverpool, him or Owen). I honestly didn't realise that he is still playing! He is playing in Thailand for team called Muangthon United.
Anyway, why is this important? Because I always had Fowler down as someone who was mostly in it for money. Unlike most footballers he has fantastic businessacumen and has actually made probably as much money via his investments as he has playing football. Compared to his wealth, that team in Thailand and his couple of previous teams in Australia are paying him pocket change at most. So I kind of found it surprising that he really loves the game and wants to play.

Yes, him, Owen and McManamon own half of Chester/Cheshire! Very good business men who invested very wisely before the property boom in 2004.
If only they didn't like the gee gees ;-)

Do you think they'll still perform together despite Robin's death?

I think you'll find that Maurice no longer performs due to extreme ill health as well.

As good as that sounds he turned down a pay as u play deal with blackpool a few months ago so he can't love the game that much, granted I heard deal was a shocker but still.

Only beaten by that of Gower, Lloyd, Shane Warne etc, who get paid to travel the world in perpetual summertime, drinking wine, fishing, attending barbecues, meeting women of all creeds and colours in summer dresses and bikinis & occasionally; watch a bit of cricket.

Don't understand what you mean. Still playing at 37 when he wouldn't need to financially kind of means that he must love playing football. And why, at his age, would he choose to go and sit on the bench in Blackpool when he can experience different countries and leagues while actually being a star?

He's a big property mogul..has a lot of houses..unlike most footballers of his generation he didn't piss it all up the wall

I think we should ask our BiB a perspective insight of a possible Fowler's involvement into Full_Moon_Party

Then he might learn how to take a penalty ;)

Just remembered his absolute corker of a finish against United about 8-9 years ago. Left foot drilled into the far corner. Great game that.

Aye, I remember that cos right before it there was a close up of me biting my nails on MOTD at 2-1 in injury time!
