The "fachas" , the racist right are still a blight on Spanish society I´m afraid. The nationalism being whipped up into a frenzy atm here by all sections of the Spanish media is manna from heaven for them.
This will be conveniently swept under the carpet or buried by the banking bailout news

you could see during the anthem that balo was looking round at them all chanting etc
pretty disgraceful in this day and age isn't it really..

There was a moment very early on in the game when he had the ball near their box and it was clearly audible.

The whole media focus was on the ukrainian/polish fans before the start of the tournament but the spanish have a history of this sort of behaviour.

I didnt hear it myself but i'm willing to accept it if the mirror reported it.

In all seriousness though I wasn't listening that hard.

The spanish "Ultras" always make racism-noise in and out the stadium. I don't why UEFA close his eyes and ears for this fact. The Real Madrid's Ultras Sur is the best example.

Can anyone confirm/deny whether the photo in this report is from the Croatia-Italy game or some photostock thing? If it is from the game, it's pretty much irrefutable that there have been racist incidents. If not, then it's irrefutable that the BBC are intent on fanning the flames...

This is supposedly a football site but sounding more and more like a council's diversity watch program. I condemn racism too but would like to hear something about Balo actually justifying his selection by delivering something on the pitch.

So far he's looked like Italy's Ashley Young.

I thought he was getting it from the off and that you could clearly hear it. As it was getting no comments on the telly I thought I must be imagining it.

I respect your viewpoint, mr nool, but that thread is about Balo's attitude. I'd just like to see him make some impact on the tournament in a footballing sense.
