THAT Goal

Until last month, when a City fan mentioned 'that' goal we all knew they were talking about this;

But then Agueuro staked his claim

So, is it still Dickov scoring possibly the most important goal in City's history in the 95th minute or Aguero ending the 44 year wait for a title in the 94th minute?

That goal will be sergio's what dickov did was amazing and helped us get up but that goal in the last minute of the season means more to me

at this moment 'that goal' is Aguero's. The test will be whether we still say that in 13 years time.

Its amazing how similar the goals are in the build up and finish. Not only that but both days followed similar swings in emotions from expectation to despair and then elation.
I suspect in the history of Manchester City Football Club the Dickov goal is more important - without it what followed may have been very different.
In the history of football, Aguero's goal represents something on a different scale. A few days after the play offs I was still chuffed but all we had done was get out of the third tier of English football. It's a month since we won the Premier League and I am still buzzing, still cannot really believe it.
Not even sure "THAT" goal is enough for Aguero's winner.
It may even be "THE" Goal!

In the context of the club history it has to be Dicky's, in the context of the clubs future it's all Kun's

Agreed - probably a question of the age of posters - those (like me) that have been around a long time might well (like me) think that it simply has to be the Dickov goal.
Without that we would not have moved to the new stadium. Without the stadium the Sheik would not have bought us - so Aguerro would never have been at CITY let alone scored that goal.
I suspect (hope) that there will be other goals to win major trophies - there will only ever one goal that will have stopped us falling into irrecoverable decline

Aguero's goal will always be 'that goal' as far as the football world is concerned, but for City it will always be Dickov's. Without it, Aguero's would never have happened.

I've got it as my text alert on my phone!
As far as the two goals go, I think that without Dickies goal, we would never have seen aguero in a city shirt, so it's that one for me. I have just loved watching both of them about ten times to make sure though.

Has to be Dickov, because as others have said, we wouldn't be where we are today if he hadn't scored it. Club may not even exist if he hadn't scored if you believe the rumours of financial meltdown at that time.

I think this sums it up best for me.

Yeah defo Dickov's was more important as it enabled us to get to the position of where we are today, and as others have said where would we be now if we had lost that game?
Sergio's was very special though. Will always bring a teary smile to my face.

I just dont know - I was one of the 250,000 alleged blues at Wembley when Dickov scored and so it was different to me - I didnt really see it - i just started hugging and kissing men - but then we had another 40 or 50 minutes of nail biting shite to get through untill it was "that goal"
Ive just talked myself into knowing exactly what "THAT Goal" is
AGUERROOOOOOOO!

Was it not Nicky Weaver's pen saves that won us that match?
I'd go with Weaver's saves over the Sergio goal.

Aguero's goal won us a title.
Dickov's saved us from footballing ruin, easily the most important goal in our history.
The importance of Dickov's goal will NEVER be beaten.

Silly to say one was more important than the other.
Both hugely important for different reasons.
