It's all very quiet

on the transfer front isn't it?

We're not even seeing rumours really about mooted signings. I'm starting to wonder if we're actually gonna sign anyone at all.

I'm not at all convinced we are actively trying at the moment

I think we will be in for a couple of players in July so long as we can shift a couple, but its poor form to approach players during a tournament (unless of course you are chelsea and want gerrard)

Very hard to do business during the Euro's. Things will pick up in July I would expect

Didn't we announce Silva's signing during the World Cup? Or have I made that up?

I think Boateng was announced just before, not sure with Silva. If we did I imagine all the business would have been concluded before the tournament so that he could focus on that.

When did we make our signings last year? They were all July I think, I don't remember.

There was still rumours though in June...just get the feeling that we're not actually pursuing anyone. It's odd.

I dont mind this at all, im still whaling(right word?) in the fact we are current champions and dont mind if we actually dont sign anyone yet, plus havin the euros on is great.

We only need one or two players anyway so if we get them great and if we dont not end of the world.

I like this quiet period, the season took a lot out of me, alot of stress involved and im happy to kick back and relax!
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think from press reports you can see who we are targeting, the club clearly want RVP and he has said that decision won't be made until the Euro's are over (could be sooner than expected for Holland), we also seemingly wanted Hazard, Thiago Silva I reckon we were in for as well, and there are many many suggestions that we are looking at Cavani as a back up for Van Persie.

So in 2 of those cases we are probably looking at plan b's, Bale and Martinez maybe. In the case of the 2nd, it won't be discussed really until after the tournament. The rumours are out there, I think they just get less coverage during tournaments because there isn't the space on the back pages.

I don't think we're in the market for more than one or two players depending on who goes out. The squad is almost complete. But I do love the signings when they are just announced out of the blue

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We'll sign players who'll play in the Olympics.

I'll be very surprised if we aren't trying to sign Bale.

With the financial situation in Spain, I would think it was unlikely he'll be going there, plus he isn't really a priority for either team. Barca don't have a centre forward to profit from him & Real have players in his position.

Bob, on the other hand, has openly talked about wanting more options in that area. He's young enough to increase in value. He could be improved as a player by a bit of Bob.

This time last year I said on here I felt Aguero was a natural signing for us & was amazed we hadn't been linked with him. This is exactly the same imo. The fact that we let Hazard go so easily also suggests something is afoot. Of course it could be someone other than Bale but I'm convinced we're upto something, or we would have fought harder for Hazard & Bale must surely be on our agenda.

Bob has seen Bale close up & he knows what he can do.

Arsenal: Podolski and Giroud
Chelsea: Hazard and probably Hulk
Scum: Kagawa and Powell
City:

Panic stations!

I don't think we need to do much beyond shipping out many of the players who've been on loan. Last year's side had 5 or 6 new players, as did the one before that. We've won the title - only minimal changes required from here.

Kolarov to anywhere leaves us a bit light in the can attack a lot and sort of defend department. We are also desperate for pace that can set up counters like Napoli did to us. Someone who could put in a decent free kick with their left foot wouldn't go amiss either - always nice to keep the keeper guessing.

So where could we find a decent, young left sided wing back sort of player who is quick and can score goals? Preferably they should come from a selling club - the sort who'll whinge a lot but ultimately take the cash. Probably best for a team not in the CL as well, as their players could be disillusioned.

So once he's finished helping 'Arry get his piano down the stairs, I wouldn't be surprised if Bale isn't asking Shrek for advice on where to buy hanging tyres in the Manchester area.
