Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Emmanuel Greedybayor

Postby Green & Blue » Sat Aug 11, 2012 1:09 pm

What is the deal with this chap? I really wish he would just get a move on at this stage.

As far as i am aware a deal has been struck ages back between City and Spurs on the transfer. However if reports are to be believed this greedy twunt is demanding he be paid ridiculous sums upfront to close the deal. The whole thing seems to be playing a major factor in our reluctance to make any serious moves in the transfer market.

Why is he such a greedy twunt?

Answers on a postcard.........

because he has been allowed to be so by the amateur management of his contract situation.

since he has been declared redundant by the manager, he simply has been allowed to enjoy himself in madrid and london when he still was taken by a 3 years contract obligation that might have been used as a factual leverage to force him at compromise.
instead his services had been loaned for peanuts to 2 different important Clubs without any warranty of buy back.

such a spastic management remind me of the loaning contract of Joe hart at birmingham, when we had been forced to ask authorization to loan a very average keeper because we pay a huge salary to a misfit of sporting director.

Imo he's not greedy at all.

He was ready & willing to play for City & has been discarded. He is entitled to seek the best deal for himself & to wait til the last day of the transfer window to get it. He owes City nothing & there is no reason whatsoever he should accept a drop in wages just to make it easier for City to sign players. If I was him, I'd take great delight in fucking over Mancini & Marwood as much as possible.

Mind you, Blake Carrington, JR Ewing & Silvio Berlusconi post on here, & they would have had him out of the door no problem.

If someone paid me £100+ grand a week and then, despite not wanting to employ me directly, helped facilitate a move to two other employers whilst subsidising my hefty wage packet and then found a permanent employer who would take me and pay me a decent wage then I'd figure I owe my original employer something.

Maybe that's just me.

I can see your point of view as well Ted you make valid points but I still can't help but feel he is Greedy out and out.

How i see it, City by all means are bending over backwards to push through a seriously cut price deal.We are giving him to Spurs for a pittance of his actual value so they are in a position to offer him a salary which could only be described as a Kings ransom. That appears to not be enough for him as reports suggest the deal has stalled as hes holding out for aome sort of signing on fee/pay off to top it all off.

Mate, with the best will in the world you are backfitting facts to suit your theories, Hart was on a season long loan, FA rules preclude callback clauses from season long loans. maybe he shouldn't have been on loan in the first place but I reckon we'd have lost him altogether if Hughes hadn't been sacked as he clearly didn't rate him and preferred Given.

His reluctance to move on shows a total lack of ambition on his part. Fuck him, he either moves or isn't played for the season, that is the choice he should be given.

just wonder what Adebayor would have done if he was told to report to Carrington chief gardener for the next 3 years, instead.
again, what is the difference between and a senior sporting director and an housewife at the supermarket?

and just for sake of good order, I can accept to be called whatsoever name for the sake of a good banter, but fucking Berluskoni it's quite hurting for an Italian who is heavily suffering because of the existence of that criminal... just saying

Ok you can be someone less criminal than Berlusconi; Charlie Luciano perhaps..

Adebayor already knows that if he doesn't leave City, he will be sat on his arse until he does, so I don't understand what your point is regarding that. He also knows he can wait until the last day of the transfer window until making his mind up what he does, unless of course Khaldoon gives Marwood the ok not to bother selling him, like he did with Tevez. Once again, the power to do that lies with the chairman, not with Marwood. If Marwood was to make that decision on his own, he would probably lose his job, which he will anyway if Mancini keeps on complaining about him. Then someone else will come in & have the same problem.

Jon,
I've pourposedly choosen to avoid to be engaged in Your "where's the incompetence" line of reasoning because, You now, I'm proud to count You amongst my dear and respected friends, and I wouldn't like to start making a Doomie just with You Mate.
I see the point: perhaps it's not by chance that all the wisest posters of the forum, I mean Sir John, Ted, Beefy and You amongst the others, are all lined up into the "patiece and stability" camp. I share the same attitude, generally speaking, and i think I can be credited of that.
But again and again and again and again:
in order to aim and stay to the top, the Club need the services of top pros only.
Brian Marwood is no better than a smart looking apprentice with a couple of mid lever introductions. FACT!

pls stop being petty like as per the Joe Hart' loan argument: what if i reply that a senior s.d. would have agreed a 4 months loan with callback clause and a getlemen agreement to renew it for further 4? it's a line of reasoning that go nowhere.

FACT is that, at best, BM is an average employee who haven't done a deal different to what Ted's secretary would have done.
Stability, ok. Incompetence, no thanks.
Excellence very welcome and quite needed in the position.

cheers

lucky Luc is fine ,mate.
btw, You bring me thinking about another criminal who would be very effective in the Marwood position: Luciano Moggi.

Probably the man I hated most in the Italian football, but certainly a senior sporting director who would had sorted the sale of the Togolese prick in an heartbeat.
not very much accorded to the Club benchmark of style anf fairness, I concede...

So he has to take an almost 50% pay cut because we don't want him anymore? Why should he do that?

Adebayor is doing exactly what anyone else would do. We paid him a very high wage and just because we don't want him anymore, doesn't mean he should accept a pay cut. We created this situation so we have to resolve it.

It's a right pain in the arse for us as it's costing us a fortune to have him on our books, but we got ourselves into this situation. He's a very good player, and I'd like to see him playing again at a good level, but he knows he can wait until the end of the transfer window and will most likely get a loan deal to a decent club whilst getting the wages we gave him in his contract.

In any other industry in the world, people would be perfectly ok with that. But because everyone lets emotions get involved in football, we expect footballers to behave differently if it affects our club. Unfortunately, the reality is that we are just going to have to suck it up until Adebayor's contract runs out (and RSC, and Bridge).

You are saying to do something that would be breach of contract and would allow him to leave on a free and probably with his contract paid up!! There is precedent for this already, it's the reason we had to take Tevez back in the fold...

It was always likely that Adebeyor would want his pound of flesh. Hughes was fed up with his unpredictable efforts way before Bertram arrived. However I have to ask three questions. Was humiliating him necessary or well advised. Is it an action that Mancini found unpalatable. Imo the answer to these questions is no.And finally there must be many like me who find Mancini's attacks on Marwood distasteful and hypocritical. Even if some fans appear not to know it, Marwood does not set transfer policy, Kaldoon does.Dont see much evidence of Bert bollocking him. Wonder why not?

wonder why it's so difficult to get the difference between setting the transfer strategy and undertaking the tasks underneath it.

Marwood does not set fuck all, we all are well aware of that: and thanks God for that.
He's just incapable to execute it effectively.
