Summit's up: Stunned City chairman demands Mancini-Marwood peace talks
Champions' frustrated manager no longer speaks to their football administrator as he waits and waits to welcome his first summer signing
Roberto Mancini is set to be summoned for peace talks with Brian Marwood by his bosses at Manchester City.
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has been stunned by Mancini’s continuing attacks on football administrator Marwood, following a failure to land any of his summer transfer targets.
Relations between the two have broken down to the extent that they no longer speak to each other.
Manager Mancini is now set to be told to attend a summit with Marwood, Khaldoon and acting chief executive John MacBeath to broker a truce.
The Italian believes he is in a strong position after landing the title, but Marwood has a mandate to keep the first-team squad at manageable levels.
A City insider said: “Roberto is frustrated because the club haven’t given him everything he has demanded.
“It is tricky. Both Roberto and Brian are valued tremendously by the owners.”
City ARE now looking to Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell and believe they are close to a deal that will finally see Emmanuel Adebayor make a permanent move to Spurs.

SHEIKH MANSOUR TO SPLASH CASH
SHEIKH Mansour has broken his silence over Man City’s lack of transfer spending and ordered: “Splash my cash – now!”
Etihad boss Roberto Mancini is hugely frustrated at not being able to add new signings to his title-winning squad.
Mancini has lost his cool with football administration officer Brian Marwood who has yet to splash the cash – with identified targets Daniel Agger and Daniele De Rossi still not signed, sealed and delivered.
Now City owner Mansour has declared that he wants deals done for at least two new players.
And, after celebrating City’s Premier League crowning last season, the sheikh wants more of the same this time around with back-to-back titles his big demand.
But first the Abu Dhabi billionaire – who has spent nearly £500m on players since buying City in 2008 – wants players in – and quick.
Mansour said: “What is important is to preserve the achievement of winning the title and maintaining the good standards of last season.
“We will support the team with a player or players.
“But this does not detract from the efficiency and capacity of the current squad of players with whom the manager is completely satisfied.”
Mansour is watching developments at the Etihad closely and is in regular touch with Mancini and Marwood.
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has revealed that the sheikh is completely hands-on and never missed a ball being kicked throughout the whole of last season.
Even when City were not on satellite TV, Mansour ordered his staff to get him internet coverage.
Khaldoon said: “Sheikh Mansour did not miss a single minute of football last season. He saw every Premier League game, every cup and Champions League match.
“Even when games were not shown on television we always found a way to get it aired to him. It’s incredible – he never misses a game.”

Hot Rod: City line up move for £20million-rated Rodwell
Mancini has been an admirer of the talented but injury-jinxed England midfielder for years - but faces competition from United and Chelsea
Manchester City are ready to launch a bid for Jack Rodwell.
Roberto Mancini has been a big admirer of the Everton starlet since seeing him destroy his side in a crucial Premier League game in 2010.
Mancini was also impressed with the man-marking job that Rodwell did on David Silva when Everton visited the Etihad last season.
The Toffees value their young England midfielder at £20million, despite his recent injury problems.
City are looking to recruit young domestic players in a bid to comply with Premier League regulations, and want Rodwell and Swansea winger Scott Sinclair to bolster their squad.
City could face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United, though.
The champions also believe they are close to brokering a compromise deal that will see Emmanuel Adebayor leave for Tottenham at last. Mirror

Lean, mean Tevez is a stone lighter this season
City striker has never been this fit in six years of English football PLUS Torres is still under pressure to prove he can replace Drogba at Chelsea
Image
Carlos Tevez has stunned Manchester City’s coaching staff by reporting back to the club lighter than he has ever been during his six years in England, writes Simon Mullock.
The Argentinian striker has lost over a stone in his bid to prove his hunger for success has not been sated by the FA Cup and Premier League medals he has won in successive seasons with City.
Boss Roberto Mancini gave every member of his squad a summer training programme at the end of last season.
Each player was also told their ideal weight and warned that anyone tipping the scales would be disciplined.
But Tevez is even leaner than expected and has not been in such great shape since he played for Corinthians in Brazil, before he arrived at City via West Ham and Manchester United.
The 28-year-old does not want to be left on the sidelines as Mancini continues his search for a striker.
So, instead of taking to the beaches and golf courses of Argentina, he embarked on an individual fitness programme.
A source close to Tevez said: “Carlos sometimes goes to a training camp in Switzerland to get himself fit for pre-season, but this time he worked on his own all the way through the summer.
“Mancini is very Italian in his obsession with the fitness and weight of his players, and everyone is given an individual training programme and a prescribed weight to maintain.
"Mancini demands his players can hit the ground running when it comes to pre-season.
“So Carlos did what was asked of him – and more. He has trained like a Trojan over the summer. He is now the lightest he has ever been during his time in England.”
Tevez missed pre-season last year after being given time following the Copa America.
When he did report back he was clearly carrying too much baggage – both mentally and physically.
Tevez checked into a clinic after an eating binge, triggered by the depression of seeing a move away from City collapse.
His condition deteriorated when a bust-up with Mancini prompted him to go AWOL for six months.
But despite a lack of fitness, Tevez returned to spark a run of six successive wins that delivered the title to the Etihad.
Mancini has missed out on Robin van Persie, but still has Napoli striker Edinson Cavani on his radar.
But the insider added: “Carlos is settled again and wants to play a big part this season.”

Cheers Chinners.

I read on Bmoan that someone claimed Joe Royle blabbed the Rodwell rumour whilst giving a speech on a cruise ship in the fjords.

Then straight away it appears all over the press. Imo they get half their stories off sites like that, & this, including the Marwood bollocks which was being spread on there & twitter by ex City staff & people with mates who have been fired by the club/Marwood & hold a grudge.

did notice in the last friendly that tevez is looking much more thin than normal. Happy about that and I think he could be deadly this season with aguero, looking forward to it.

You may well right there, Mate. and I concur You are, in fact.

But I remember a yet non convinced [of the manager] Mate of mine, a very and deservedly revered one, saying; "what football forums are for?"

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!
