Horrible team.
I assume with the older players like Lampard, because they can't keep up with the younger better players so just resorts to booting them.

That tackle on AK didn't look too bad until you seen it again, the ref had perfect site though and it showed as AK didn't get straight up. What pissed me off was that even after the replays Townsend (I think) was still saying it wasn't a bad challenge and should've been Yellow at most. Well sunshine, if Vince can get a straight Red for not touching a player then that one constituted a Black Card (death by tackle)!

Does this mean he gets a 3 match ban and misses the start of the season? I was hoping for a few more with Ramirez, Cole and Lampard, meaning they'd be short for their opening game.

It should be a 3-match ban for Ivanovic.

Whilst I don't think he intentionally went in to hurt Kolarov, there is just no need to tackle like that, and with the rules and guidelines as they are in today's game, a red card was the only option for the referee.

He could have easily made the tackle using just one foot and sliding in, but he chose not to, so he risked a red card.

Even if he wasn't sent off, we still would have won :-)

I read on the Daily Mail match report he's got a ban for the red.

I'm just trying to work out how many games, I thought it was 3 for a reckless/dangerous challenge?

Your correct. According to the Daily Mail he misses next week's trip to Wigan, plus home encounters with Reading and Newcastle.

Bonus, but that's why I wanted a couple more sent off, even if it did feck the game up.

Ivanovic's tackle was poor. Kolarov's leg was planted and the boot struck at shin snap height. The lack of power from Ivanovic saved a horror injury.

Ramires not getting a 2nd yellow for the block was absurd. Kompany got a yellow for a less blatatnt block. Inconsistent from the ref, who I thought was utter shite, as per the English refereeing norm.

The biggest gobshite, however, is fucking Luiz. What is he? He';s nuts. A total liability. I thought he fouled Tevez twice in the blink of an eye, with nopthing given, boith inside the box at 3-1.

Overall, Chelsea's indisciplined, overly aggressive performance said more about them feeling outclassed; they looked the 5 places and 22 points adrift of us that they were at the end of last season. This was far from our strongest line up and pretty much close to theirs.

Hazard, btw, looks like a diving, whining little wanker. We don't need that sort of twat anywhere near our team.

Also directly compared to Olympic team events, that Chelsea team were dirty stupid fucking low life moaning children.

JOHN TERRY YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO WIN BY NAGGING THE REFEREE YOU HAVE TO EARN IT BY BEING BETTER AND TRYING HARDER.

Fuck Chelsea, I hope the Di Matteo bubble bursts

I seem to recall Hamann doing something similar to Fatty Lamps when we got hammered 6-0.

I actually thought there were 3 successive fouls. The shoulder charge to start in the box followed by a kick at Tevez nowhere hear the ball just outside the box, finished with a pull down as Tevez ran through again. It looked like the ref wanted to save the game but wasn't strong enough to deal with the Chelsea players, even when they were gobbing off.

PS. How good was Tevez by the way, awesome game.

His goal was amazing, just Tevez at his premium best. Looks totally renewed. He and Kun could rip the league to bits this year.

They really look fantastic together don't they. Finding room for balo will interesting as I want to see Tevez and Aguero together as much as possible. Lots of matches so no worries on that front but Mancini will have a real challenge with his shuffling of forward players this season. Looking forward to seeing his response.

We have so many options. When Kun is off colour, like today, Tevez and the living god that is Yaya step up. Other days, it's Silva and Kun, and so on. City are the team to beat, without any doubt.

Stengthen? Yes, we should. Savic is atrocious, just fucking embarrassing most of the time. Agger at 20 milllion is silly, but we do need someone other than Savic. I mean, was Kolo injured or is he off? I'd try for Skrtel, I think he is better than Agger and less injury prone.

Anyway, when Beast Mode was activated for those 20 minutes today, it was a thing of power and beauty. I think I found myself laughing out loud.

We need to make loads more signings IMO. We are way too reliant on Argentinians. What if there is a second Falklands War?

I think we'll see Balo play more in Europe.
Tevez and Aguero.....I genuinely cannot think of a better front two in the world!! We're very lucky!

And the rule change came because two rags got red cards in a pre season game & missed 3 games each. Cue phone call from Ferguson..

Ivanovic is getting a 3 game ban for reserve matches. Makes a mockery of the Community Shield. As does not sending off Ramires (especially!) and perhaps the others mentioned.
