Fucking awful, awful 1st half at Chelsea. Something like 8 times we lost the ball within ten yards of our own box due to people dribbling with the ball rather than passing. Some really brainless play. I don't think it's down to lack of ability, just pure stupidity.

Lombardo has the team 15 yards too deep & so far doesn't look like a disciple of Bob.

Let's hope he sorts it half time as were still 0-0.

Lopez has had a nightmare.

Shite setpieces all round from us. Do we even practise them? Because it doesn't look like it.

I quite like the sound of the U21's league though so far.

So do I but I'm very very disappointed with that half. These lads are much much better than that.

That goal of Jordi's looked about 3 yards onside to me.

It's been shit but it's possible they're rusty - Suarez did well setting up an assist for someone then running into an area to get the ball back (intelligent and creative by him), just a pity he missed an open goal though. Our first team's third choice keeper has kept a clean sheet so far which is useful.

I've only tuned in for the 2nd half, but our defence has been terrible, Wabara in particular.

Wabara is like a throwback to the athletic but dumb days of the past. I think he was so bad it was difficult to evaluate the other lads around him, especially the other CB. Facey did some shit things but I actually think he could make a defender. Helan interests me. Idon't think he did much wrong defensively & he kept it simple on the ball. The way he breaks away at pace could be an asset at 1st team level.

Suarez is pretty much nailed on for the 1st team squad but there rest of tonight's lot are touch & go. Hiwula is a class act but he was a proper lazy cunt tonight. Not impressed at all.

The most disappointing aspect for me was the number of bad decisions made on the ball. Our U15s played with much more football intelligence.

At least we got to see Thorgan Hazard showing his brother how back-heals should be done.

Report doesn't suggest we played as badly as is being stated on this thread - but I didn't watch it unlike some on this thread and I wonder if the official site would really come ot and say if we were particulalry poor. However the excert below suggests we played our part in an attractive match.

'Anyone looking for an endorsement of this new U21s league structure only needed to look into the home of the Bees on Friday night to witness plenty of industry in an attractive match, characterised by two teams looking to keep the ball on the floor and work the space.'

It was a poor performance, but they've been screwing around with trialists most of the summer. They need another few matches.
