Mancini's United admission

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes Manchester United have the best strikeforce in world football following the signing of Robin van Persie.

United completed the signing of Dutchman van Persie on Friday on a four-year deal from Arsenal after a protracted chase.

Van Persie joins a forward line that already includes Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez, and which as far as Mancini is concerned, is unparalleled at the moment.

"I think it is the best four strikers in the world," Mancini - who has the considerably potent striking quartet of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko at his own disposal - said.

That surely has to be a mind game trick?
Aguero and Tevez won't exactly enjoy hearing that and i think we have the better forwards overall.
What is he playing at saying shit like this before it even starts?
Rooney has to be the most over rated footballer in world football.

Sigh.

Course it's all fucking mind games. Come on - do you actually believe he's that negative? He's been saying stuff like this since he started at the club! He's mainly doing it to play down expectations. It also puts pressure on United to deliver immediately. It also makes his own players try and prove a point, and also, importantly, it's also calculated to put pressure on the board to sanction a few transfers for him to make sure we close the gap :)

Mancini's not stupid.

Liver Spots says we are the team to beat, Bobby says they are the favourites. Crack Dealer says we are both the teams to beat. Everyone else doesn't really stand a chance.

Mancini cracks me up...surely every single journalist that reports on this drivel knows it's blatant mind games. Yet it still makes the back page in a *SHOCK, HORROR* stylee.

Keep up the good work Bobby Manc.

He did it last year and United lost it and we won the league. So ya know, in Bobby we trust.

@PaulMcLaren.
Mancini is a football expert and he wouldn't tell lies.

Obviously the rags have a far better strike force than us. Their players have created more assists than any other team. They have the experience of multiple championships that we don't and it is always harder to retain the title.
No worries mate. Last season we just got lucky.

Mancio knows what he's talking about.
I think our main target this season should be the League Cup...it would complete the domestic set and give us another day out at Wembley.

This maybe all good fun but after watching the pre-match conference yesterday I could have sworn that it was a United publicity stunt; I thought Taggart had crashed the party and was asking questions.

Most of the OS vids are questions about Van Persie and United. Bob answered that we were never really in for him and that our strike force was very strong yet every other question for near the rest of the session was based around them.

Message to City: Talk about City and if they want to ask questions about the Rags, direct them across the way to the Rag Carrington Branch. Thank you.
