Roberto Mancini has revealed he is prepared to allow Adam Johnson to leave Manchester City before the transfer window ends.
The winger, 25, started for England on Wednesday against Italy but didn’t even make the bench at the Etihad Stadium against Southampton.
And this has left former Middlesbrough star Johnson frustrated, but Italian boss Mancini has admitted he will let him leave – for the right price – because he understands the player’s desire to play first-team football.
He said: “Adam wants to go to play. We are waiting for the next ten days to find a solution for him.
“If we find a good solution Adam can go to play. I think this is better because he is young, he’s a good guy and he deserves to play always and here it is not possible.
“We’ll wait ten days. If after ten days we don’t find a solution for him he’ll stay here. He’s happy and maybe he can have more chances.
“He can have a future here but you have to understand when you are 25-years-old you want to play always.
“If he decides he wants to play always I agree with him and if he wants to leave I am sorry because I think he is a good guy and is different player from the other striker and wingers but I understand he wants to play.”
Well fuck. He has his issues, but we need him in games like the one we had this afternoon.

We don't need him as much as we think we do i'd argue. I'm sure his replacement will do a fine job.
I like AJ, but i don't think he's ever gonna 'make it' at City. Shame really.

Step up James Milner??? Would rather keep super jaw than AJ and we will have to trim some surplus before we can take to many more

He's proven time and time again he cannot be counted on.
Time for a change of scenary.
We could do with someone that has electric pace and directness. I think Sinclair could be a good role player

Please please be a loan to Reading or QPR etc, He would strengthen any of the clubs he could go to, Scouse 1 or 2, spuds, arse.
Id rather we have the chance to have him back should shit fuck up with injuries etc.

Leave him only to West Ham or Swansea, but please replace him with Sinclair immediately!

Adam Johnson is the favourite player of all those in the press and other footy fans who never actually watch him play on a regular basis.
Has talent but disappears in games, and hardly every puts a decent cross over. I wish him well elsewhere but for £15m? "Id drive him there myself." (tm)

That's the thing! He has no consistency whatsoever. I mean on his day he is capable of beating anyone but when it's off day he doesn't contribute at all.
Every winger in the world has off days and they can't beat their fullback. That's part of the job. But really top wingers will still contribute other ways. Help defence, make themselves available for short pass, make runs off the ball to help open space for strikers etc. Johnson does none of that.
He will be brilliant addition for mid-table team.

I think Silva has been guilty of everything people criticise AJ for in the last 6 months but is allowed much more freedom to get involved. AJ gets told off if he moves position.

His on-days have been few and far between, although he still manages to pop up with a goal here and there which leads to every other fan who is an "expert" on what City do wrong to come to the conclusion he is too good to be sitting on the bench at City and we're ruining a talented English prospect.

I rate aj and think he's probably the best dribbler of the ball England have but his biggest problem for me is he seems content to get the ball as and when someone delivers it to him.he very rarely if ever goes and demands the ball off of other players and i think that's why he goes missing for long periods in games.he should be taking defences to the cleaners by now and on occasions does very good things to show he has quality but overall he just doesn't do it regularly enough.its a shame a player with as much promise would be leaving city but it's all about being no.1 for mancini.

I watch every game he has played for us and i rate him, granted he's not world class but there's definitely a role for him and an important one, he is something different to what we have and is capable of winning a game on his own, he would of been great to have on the bench yesterday and he is far far superior to Scott Poor mans theo walcott Sinclair. I will be disappointed when he goes.
