Mario out for a month

Apparently out for a month due to needing laser eye surgery. Can't keep wearing contacts due to his grass allergy. Shorted sighted to fuck.

Misses a CL Madrid game, and 3 or 4 league games mostly against shitty opposition.

This is terrible timing and bad news. Looks like Dzeko will need to step it up and take his chance to cement himself back into the first 11 like he did this time last season.

Why the hell did he wait until the season started to get this done? The club should make him wear some prescription safety goggles until the end of the season - grass wouldn't be able to affect his eyes and he'd be able to see just fine (and set a new fashion trend)

Kind of like Davids

I take it Guidetti is still around - possibly might get a run out at this rate?

Isn't he still recovering from that mystery virus that almost ended his career?

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is due to undergo an eye operation in the coming days but is expected to make a quick return.

Reports emerged in the morning papers that Balotelli faces a month on the sidelines in order to have laser treatment to correct short sightedness. He will head to Brescia for the surgery.

A month-long absence would have meant Balotelli missing key games against Stoke, Arsenal, Fulham and Sunderland, as well as Champions League ties with Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

However, after he was left on the bench for Saturday's 3-1 victory at home to Queens Park Rangers, first-team coach David Platt said that the Italian would be sidelined only briefly, revealing he has been troubled by the issue for some time.

"Mario will have an operation in a few days' time," Platt said. "It's not a major procedure and he should be back quite quickly.

"I've heard suggestions he will be out for a month but that's not true and I'm not sure where that came from. Hopefully it will correct a problem he's been having for some time and he can move on from there."

For a treatment that hasn't been out many years I wouldn't fuck about letting people slice and laser my eyes

It's been around for 23 years.
