What Are You Expecting? (Poll Added)

Postby Beefymcfc » Sun Sep 16, 2012 10:14 am

We're 4 games in and I've not seen a 'Prediction/Expectation' thread as yet. I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on:

1. Community Shield - I think we'll win this ;-)

2. Premier League -

3. Champions League -

4. FA Cup -

5. League Cup -

I'll give my predictions/expectations once a few have posted and also update with a Poll after a few suggestions. Without giving mine away, I'm not expecting too much silverware this season.

PS. Poll added.

Ill start.

Charity shield - 50/50 but i think Tevez will step up and well scrape it.

Prem - this might sound weird, but I can still not bring myself to expect a win so 2nd for me.

Champs league - think well go last 16

FA cup - semis

Carling cup - I think bobby will add this one to our collection.

Hope I'm wrong as that's hardly a successful campaign, but I'm ever the pessimist.

Pretty similar to myself there PBL.

1. Community Shield - In the bag.

2. Premier League - Top 3 as I feel the CL will take it's toll as well as other clubs getting stronger.

3. Champions League - Out of the Groups and would love to make Semi's.

4. FA Cup/League Cup - A final in any would be great. After that, anything can happen.

1) Charity Shield - Done

2) Premier League - Don't think we'll repeat last year, we'll finish second

3) Champions League - Think we'll have a good run in it, quarter finals

4) FA Cup - Final/win it

5) League Cup - Early exit, think we'll field really really young teams and do a United at some point and lose to someone shit.

My expectations.
But I will be disappointed if we fail to reach these

1. Community Shield -
I'm fully expecting to see some silverware here
Vinnie lifting the Community shield trophy!

2. Premier League -
Top 3
Top 2 (but ahead of the scum). just like PBL said, I either can't really bring myself to expect title again!

3. Champions League -
Out of the group. After that it's anyone's guess

4. FA Cup -
Quarter finals
Final/Winners

5. League Cup -
Semi-finals
Final/Winners

I have a feeling Mancini will not treat the FA & League cups in a proper way and it will cost us, like last year in the LC semis. Pissed me right off and I'm afraid the same will happen again.

I think we'll get dumped out of Chumps League at group stage & finish bottom so we don't have to be arsed with Europa Cup, League Cup will be for the kids & we'll be dumped out once we bring some key first teamers back in, FA cup will be another disaster when some bent ref gives everything against us, then after the worst injury list in years coming just as the January transfer window shuts we'll end up being relegated on the final day of the season after Hart is sent off, Mario pulls on the gloves & gets caught out 3 times trying to dribble the ball the full length of the pitch

I can't get used to these past years of winning trophies, although no one has impressed me in the league & we have the ability to win it again & it would help embed that theory that the tide has changed :)

I'm expecting an easier ride in the domestic cup competitions. Of late we seem to be landing pl teams every time. I think how we tackle the Fa cup will depend on cl qualification.

Cl - think we'll qualify 2nd then anything can happen.

League cup - semis again

Fa cup - depends on cl

Pl - win. I don't think we'll drop some of the points we dropped last season and our squad is stronger and a year older.

At the moment I'm fearing the worst, I'm worried we'll win nothing. It's not just based on yesterday's performance it's been based on all of them (charity shield inc).

We've been poor defensively, in every game we've played we've not really been hammered but we've shipped a lot of goals. No Clean Sheets.

We've struggled to maintain possession for large spells of games (QPR at home, Liverpool away & yesterday)

I just don't think we've set the world alight which is fine when your playing QPR & Saints at home but when your about to set foot in the Bernabeu we could get a pasting with all the injures we have.

I just have this feeling that without De Jong we have a hole defensively in midfield.

What i would judge as acceptable

Prem win it or 2nd.
CL Semi's
Fa cup final/win it
League cup play the kids/don't give a shit.

What i think will happen based on our form so far.

Prem 4th
CL second in group stage and out the next round
Fa cup quarters
Calling cup still don't give a shit

We need to get our shit sorted. We look really poor at times and just lazy at others. When arsenal rape us next week hopefully it will be a wake up call.

1. Community Shield - silverware added

2. Premier League - I'm predicting 3rd this season, I'm hoping I'm wrong and we certainly have the players to win it again, but already looks like it will take a lot with the strength of other clubs

3. Champions League - 2nd in group, QF exit

4. FA Cup - Final

5. League Cup - Winners

Hmm...
I think for board its to do good in CL but they will not tolerete if we dont finish in first three place in Premiere but they wanna show we are power in Europe.
For us funs it s to once again slap rags with title in Premiere.
Cups we would like to won but i think we wanna title more.

Community shield - we will get fucked over by the refs.

Prem - we will get fucked over by the refs.

Chumps league - we will do well to get out of our group, but ultimately we will get fucked over by the refs.

FA Cup - We will get fucked over by the FA

League Cup - we will get fucked over by a balloon, or a dog, or a chicken on the field- or something. Either way, we will be fucked over.

To win the league again would be great, Anything above that would be a bonus.
