Damir Skomina, who ref'd Napoli's 2-1 win over #mcfc last season, has been named referee for Real Madrid vs. City. Real are 2-0 under him.

No prob - at least it cannot be Twattenburg - so we are already ahead

Wouldn't matter which ref they choose. Madrid are the European superstars. They will get the benefit of the doubt on anything and everything.

As long as the match thread has three stars either side from the start we'll be ok.

As long as our players do their part I'm not worried.

Dont think in such high profile game he can go on one side or the other unless he is really stupid because this game will watch whole world and that could mark him or he is on direct orders from Platini but i belive that orders for referee mistake he save for Franch clubs, but then again i just remember game from last year and penalty for Barcelona against AC so u never know.. I watch him few times its not referee who cut game to much with free kicks at list in games i watch.

he's reffed a game between a Madrid side and an English team already this year:
theUEFA Super Cup.
That didn't finish well for the English.
Although it wasn't his fault.
Good news: only 1 card, so like Palus says maybe he lets the game flow

And the ref against Arsenal on the weekend is Mike Dean!

I agree. Best in the league. Doesn't make it all about him but doesn't shy away from making big decisions either. You can also see that players respect him more than some of the ballbag refs like Twattenberg and Dowd.

If Mike Dean fucks up (which he does) it's an honest mistake, rather than a response to the crowd or outside influences, like ohers mentioned.
