I am trying to keep the faith in this beautiful game that I have loved since the sixties but I am on the verge of calling it a day on football , I was listening to the Scousers v Rags game yesterday as I was driving up the M56 to our game , and I was saying to myself please dont give Shelvy a red card , and what happens a fucking red card is given then they get a soft penalty it stinks I have had enough of them cunts getting decisions to help them. I feel like selling my season card the mood I am in with football at the moment .

I know where you're coming from mate and it stinks even more now that we are challenging. The thing is, this has been going on for years and it's always been noticeable in my eyes but now we're up there it's harder to take, knowing that they are constantly being propped up. The Rags are hand-in-hand, skipping down the road with most of the media outlets, it's as if they are owed something for their success, success that they, and a few more, made by changing the rules many years ago.
And now, for them wanting the face of English football to be changed in their favour, it's a fucking joke. In some cases it makes you want to pack-up and move somewhere new but the fact is you could never leave the club you love. It's hard to take when you're so passionate about something but you've just got to plough through and see where you are when you come out the other side.
Let's face it, this is nothing new is it. What I'm looking forward to is the challenge that Mancini and the boys have to face. We know they've got the mettle, which just needs to transfer again on the pitch, like we saw last season. It wouldn't have been the same if we'd started all guns blazing, that would be expected and that's not something we do.
Coming above United this season is going to be very hard, we can see that from the first 5 league games this season, but at some point, the tides will turn and they'll start coming under pressure. That point will come sooner rather than later with Taggart looking like a wibbling fool.
That's when the joy comes back and everything will be right with the world, I promise you.

Beefy ,
Your post has made me feel a whole lot better you should specialise in counselling dis -illusioned football fans.
It does stink but like you say it has been going on a long time will be all the better beating them against all the odds
Faith restored , season card kept .
Thanks mate.

I know how you feel mate, I was ready to fucking snap between dec and feb last season. Really though they had got the better of me. Truely bent decisions every week. Winning it that way made it all the better.
I know one or two are going to be on this thread calling you spoilt and what not, but I do understand where you're coming from. It's because we are finally so close to domination and the decisions are as big a contributing factor as our own form.
We are five games in and have had two horrible decisions against us at stoke and against arsenal, resulting in a four point difference.
When you couple that with the decisions involving the rags, you could be talking about a 7 point defecit that should be there and isn't, purely because of referees. FIVE GAMES IN!!!
Eventually we will be so good that it will not matter. It's just a bit frustrating when we're almost there.
Maybe we should start a thread with bogey decisions for and against us and the rags. We did it half through last season but I think it is going to be worse this season.

No shirt lifting here pal, just the luv for the brother ;-)
As for Gillie, I'm amazed he's pulled himself away from the HD, that brilliant Blue is something else.

I totally understand where you're coming from and feel the same frustrations as every other non-rag fan (have mates who are Scouse, Leeds & Chelsea) but how would you feel if it was us?
All the media bias, the extra extra time if we need it; basically 90% of all the important decisions go our way? What if it was us getting everything in our favour because so many people in positions to influence are City fans? Would you give a shit or would you lap it up and say 'yes please, more please, kiss our blue arses thankyou very much?'
Just asking, like.

I know what your saying mate and I am not denying that we sometimes get decisions going our way , I dont know the statistics but it always seems more favourable to them maybe it evens it self out over the season it really pissed me off yesterday though listening to the game on the radio Liverpool were definately on top of the and these decisions changed it in rags favour , I was pig sick about it as I was waliking over to the Etihad.

I must admit that I felt the same on more than one occasion last season. It seemed that the officials were spoiling the game as a contest and were having far too much influence on the outcome of matches. I honestly started to believe that the English game was bent and questioned why I bothered to invest so much money, time and emotion into it.
However, that all vanished in the final few minutes of the season.

No, no, you misunderstood me slightly. What I was saying in response was in total agreement with Beefy - the bias towards the scum in the media and on the pitch from most referees and officials is clear for all fans (not just ours) to see, and it is painful to take (one of the reasons I love snooker, where players actually call fouls on themselves when the referee doesn't spot them.)
The bias is there because there are alot of rag supporters in those positions - you can hear it with certain commentators, for example - certainly in the media, and every little boy (or girl) grows up supporting one club or another, so alot of officials are bound to have a leaning..
But, what if it was us getting all that unfair bias. Would you care? Or would you say "yes, we know, we're City, fuck you?" or "what bias?" with a wry smile.
That's what I was asking.
Don't think it'll matter in the end as we'll still win the league.

I have to admit at one point last season I did say to anyone that would listen, that I'm gonna take a step back from football and stop putting it before everything and everyone in my life.
That lasted about two weeks.

We need a break. Things just aren't going for us. However as Paul Lake said #patience. 6 points next two games and a win against Dortmund and things will look a whole lot better and then we will be talking about our 8 match unbeaten start to the domestic season and 2nd place in the Champions League group stage table.
