Starts before Tevez for me at the moment. Balotelli frightens the shit out of defenders when he coes on and gives us space elsewhere.

We have the best group of 4 strikers anywhere in Europe. Used well and we win games and trophies.Today it worked starting with Tevez and Aguero albeit it took subs and basically 90 minutes for us to get ahead.

Would we have won with Dzeko starting , nobody will ever know!

I'd keep using him from the bench while it is working. I am very pleased with the work he is doing at the moment. It was a really great turn and finish today.

Balotelli is not that good Doug. He really isn't.

Using player that is on fire from the bench... I disagree. This time he scored, 60 seconds was luckily enough for him. But lets be realistic, no matter how good a player is, he needs more time.

I feel for you mate, I must say.

He really is in form, its obvious, and yet, he plays so little. Wonder what would have happened if he actually didnt perform like he does now. :)

Comparing Dzeko to Balo is silly. They're two different types of forwards.

For me at the moment Dzeko HAS to start. He's been taught his lesson now for Bayern away last year and has since got us some very very crucial goals (not least the second against QPR final day).

I can't think of a more frustrating player than him that I've seen pull on the City shirt. He's quality. He's already shown that. And he offers something different than our other 3 strikers.

He deserves more PL game time, I agree, but please don't make this thread boring with your standard soundbites. There's a discussion to be had.

The Dzeko-Agüero partenership served us very well for the first half of last season, but it took Carlos to get us back on the rails. I think the front two is the one area of the team that we CAN afford to fuck about with on a game-by-game basis. I'd like to see Dzeko and Balotelli start up front against Dortmund, as it's the one pairing that's never really clicked. They'll both be very hungry now.

Even a stubborn pigheaded manager like Bob can't ignore Dzeko with the form he's in. Surely.

Balotelli is not that good Doug. He really isn't.

I think Doug has got his own opinion and for me, Mario is why Doug is no longer given a pass.

He's right, we have 4 great strikers, better than any club, it's just the way we use them.

Mario did quite well but it changed the dynamic of the team. Personally, I thought Dzeko was the man at the time but I ain't the manager.

It worked, we won. Edin won the game with a sublime turn and strike. I never thought he was so nimble. He's on fire.

Why do you feel for him? If he's a City fan he shouldn't get too hung up on one player not playing every week.

Thinking outsie my box, maybe Mancini is using Aguero and Tevez to wear the team down (and they could win the game too) to allow the likes of Dzeko to come on and put it to bed.

Personally, I thought he'd done a Ramos at Spurs. Fortunately, it worked.

PS. Anybody seen Paulus?

Should start in my opinion. Not only that, but I can't see any footballing reason for the preference of Balotelli. I think he offers very little in a two-man partnership where the opposition is playing defensively-minded (which, lets face it, should be most games).

I honestly think we should let Balotelli's career make its next natural progression now, and sell him to someone in Russia or Ukraine.

Let's see how stubborn is Mancini. Will he start Edin against Dortumund ?
