The Ref (Again!)

The standard of refereeing is getting beyond a joke now.
Last week we had a penalty awarded against us that nobody who has seen a game of football before agreed with. We also had 2 or 3 penalty shouts of our own rejected.
Today Probert refused point blank to give us any decisions that he thought he could get away with whilst giving Sunderland anything and everything.
It really is time this was sorted out once and for all.

Damn bifocals, I thought the ref was OK today........well apart from not booking a couple more of their defenders.

I thought he was ok. But we're not happy if we're not moaning at something ;)

Two of theirs could easily have been sent off, and he seemed to think that Mario could be fouled at any time.

He got a couple of free kicks and could have had 2 or 3 more but Mario is one of those players the refs think is always looking for free kicks and the result is he gives the defenders the benefit of the doubt ( and yes that's when there is no doubt if you are a City fan).
Overall I thought the ref was a bit below average and the player who needed a little more protection was Silva rather than Mario.

I thought the refereeing display was diabolical, it's those little decisions (eh John) that make up the match. I watched the game in the mess with a City and Rangers fan and it was the Rangers fan that brought the refereeing point up. As I said at the time, we're so used to it now that it's not really worth mentioning.
The last couple of games have shown the ref's to be 'Awayers', I wouldn't like to say anything more than that as I could be classed as a 'Para'!

There was a point where O'Shea grappled Balo to the floor and then tried throwing his tiny pork sword up him and then ref just waved play on.
Disgraceful!

Dubious??
If a goal bound shot directly hits an outstretched arm in the box and a penalty is not given, it is a fucking sad day.
Defenders incorporate pinning their arms to their side into training for exact moments like this.
Clear cut penalty. I spent the last few days arguing this with rags. Disappointed it is also the view of a fellow blue.

I thought I saw the same today but now't given. If you throw your arms out and the ball is goal-bound, it's a penalty surely.

I've not seen it personally, but Will Young put it on his Twatter.

Agree with the point doug has made earlier on this subject. Lot of free kicks that didn't get given involved balotelli and I just think its a case of the boy that cried wolf.
Only complaint about the ref is that there were a couple of yellows dished out late on that should have been issued earlier.

I'm glad someone said it. I thought he was terrible today. There were 3 decisions that even after reviewing I'm not sure what they were for. And once again he let them conduct professional fouls safely around the half way line with no punishment other than a free kick. Silva still gets no protection and Balla will never get anything. It was so stupid David was just laughing at the ref towards the end.
