Chelsea match next Sunday vs Swampies

I suppose for right now, the best result is a draw but the way it has gone so far Chelsea look to be a bigger threat to us retaining our title. The swamp dwellers have done ok results wise but have been less convincing than Chelsea and had two defeats as well as two completely undeserved wins.

I know we don't want to be relying on other results, particularly theirs but if they were to beat Chelsea I reckon it would be a better result than Chelsea winning.

Chelsea will drop points in other games. 5-0 to Chelsea next Sunday would be fine by me.

If scum wins we would be fighting the long battle with both of them ... if Chelsea win, it'll just be us and them at the top soon ... so yeah I can never root for the rags, sorry!

Rags to lose against Chelsea and against Arsenal too which is their very next fixture and that should put them well behind us as we take care of Swansea and West Ham next ... As for Chelsea we'll handle them fine over the next month or so and come Christmas/New Year we'll be sitting in our rightful place, at the top that is!

PS. The rags go back to Chelsea mid week between their Chelsea and Arsenal clash for the CapitalOneCup game as well :)

It'll be interesting to see who the referee is, given the last person to ref them to a loss at the Theatre of Increasing Desperation has not been heard from since. Bearing that in mind, I wonder how many players Chelsea have sent off/penalties the scum are awarded. In a fair fight I'd back Chelsea, but I think the scum will be a long-term threat regardless of the result. Not so sure about Chelsea's credentials until they have to bounce back from a loss....

Surely a draw is the best result? We jump two points ahead of United and end up only two points behind Chelsea. I'd rather that then 3 points ahead of United and four behind Chelsea, personally. I'd also Chelsea to lose points just so they lose a bit of confidence. They're flying at the moment and anything to knock them back a bit would be most welcome.

basically, we need to concentrate winning our own games. If we do that, both Chelsea and Manu will drop points during the season. I would rather it be a 2 horse race, and I also want united to lose. So I'll be happy with a chelsea win, I'll be satisfied with a draw, and I will not be happy with a United win.

I also think if United win it could rejuvenate their season. As they have been looking even worse than us since the start, I'd rather they get further demoralized.

Chelsea are already in full confidence right now ... for them, the fall will come later.

I don't think for a moment that the refs can help the filth to replicate the same points grabbed last season.
despite the well known weakness on the back, I do consider that Chelski are the main competitor, by far.
Therefore - All forgive me - but it will be one of those very rare weekends when I'd not be disappointed with a Rags win.

Abuse and correction are welcome and deserved, I reckon... ;)

I don't give a shit what happens in other games, as long as we keep winning the others will slip up at some stage.

Chelsea spanking them would obviously be bearable thou ...

Won't matter. Chelsea will beat us aswell so the rags will make the ground back up.

Based on the first 8 games and how all 3 have performed we are fighting it out with the scum for second. Chelsea are by far the best team in the league at the minute. Especially going forward and we can point to their defence all day but ours has conceded more than theirs.

Draw would be best result, but I think Chelsea will take the rags apart. The way Stoke walked through their defence for their second should give them nightmares facing Hazard, Mata and Oscar. I predict a 1-6 type embarrassment for the rags.

Not good for us as it'll really give Chelsea confidence, but they'll have a bad patch at some point and it's about how long that is and how they bounce back from that more than how they do now. As we found last year, it's a very long season and being the outstanding side early on can mean nothing. No trophies in October and all that.

Draw

A draw would be great for us as, as most people can see, Chelsea have not only started the strongest, they have a squad that i'm actually quite jealous of, and more than capable of winning a title. Mata, Hazard & Oscar are frightening, interchangeable and better than our 0.5 Silva & Nasri. Luckily, they have Torres & Sturridge as their strikers, whereas we are miles ahead in that department. Us and them for the title.
So, a draw would be the best result for us, i haven't checked the odds for it yet, but i'll bet they're close to the United win price. Could be a tasty 5-1, which, let's face it, would be the second best result.

I am still far too new to all this - what is best for our own title winning chances type of thinking!!! I guess that I could be OK not winning the title so long as the scum do not (I know not really positive thinking)

I will fall back to the ABU mentality that has seen me through for decades - 7 - 0 please to the chavs and we will take our own chances with them

I'm fed up of hearing how good chelsea are this season, is this the same chelsea we have already destroyed... But I cant beat the feeling of seeing united lose.

I think this will be an easy game to watch. Hopefully Van Persie and Mata both get injured.

When did we destroy Chelsea? I hope you don't see the 3-2 community platter as destroying a team.

Anyway no they are not that same Chelsea. They are a much better outfit after having a few months together.

The thing that worries me is that in the January transfer window, they look as though they will be willing to splash a load more cash on additional players (particularly strikers ??), which could counteract any potential loss of form after Christmas.

They've already got a strong squad which could get even stronger so, for me, I wouldn't be too fussed if the Scum turn them over - after all, we'll be looking to take six points off the Glazermen this season and the more points Chelsea drop, the better.
