Do I need to mention his name? Outstanding performance and carried the team.
Carlos looks class in that role.

Lescott?
As good a player he is I'm still a bit unsure of his playmaking skills. Couple of decent headers during his time on the pitch though

Haha imagine lescott playing in a free role, Carl would have a breakdown!

i think Joe's distribution is still a bit too shakey for him to be considered a playmaker.

After Milner was sent off last week, he did the same thing. And he continued that today.
Carlos looks made for that role and drove the team on today. Did twice as much work as Nasri and Yaya combined (who were both shite again).
Well done Carlos - keep up the good work!

Tevez is brilliant anywhere in the oppositions half, reminds me alot of santi cazorla when he plays that role.

My point is not how great tevez is, we already know that. The fact is that we often ask the question who can fill in for David when he's out injured etc. I think we have an answer.

Do you really think our passing game was as fluid etc as it would have been with Dave pulling the strings?
Most of our lads had a day off today which of course affected our play but IMO it's waaaaaay too much to say Tevez could fill Silva's role. He may be our best alternative but that's far from being the same thing.

I agree. I never said it was the same thing.

He did Nasri's job better than Nasri and was still chasing defenders in the 100th minute.

I'm increasingly running out of patience with Nasri. His good performances occur far too infrequently to warrant a place in a side looking to win the league.

The biggest thing for me was how bad he wanted it.
I'm not ashamed to say he's my fav player, but even I got excited when he got the big applause for chasing the ball and making a slide tackle.
