And Zabba too ?

Mancini said Zabba has a hamstring problem since the national team break.

Hamstring eh ? Cheers. Always find those a bit worrying.

Don't fancy Kolo at right back but then again, against a Fat Sam team, his main job may be heading the ball so it could work out ok.

Didn't Zaba withdraw very late from the WBA game with a tight hamstring? I expect it isn't a serious one so he should be in contention for WHU.

In the swansea presser Roberto mentioned Zabba's hamstring and the international break.

I'm always nervy when Kolo plays. It looks like Zab could be back for West Ham so then we can get Milner back into centre mid.

I agree with you that I'd have Milner at right back ahead of Kolo - just a shame we'd lose Milner's presence in midfield then.

Watching Kolo the other day was painfull , he is shite and shouldnt be anywhere near the pitch imo.
Id seriously stick anyone but him in that position.

Where is Elano when you need him !

One option, if PabZab can't be risked, would be to move Kompany over to right-back, with Nasty and Joleon in the middle.

This might be a way of taking some of the pressure off VK, whilst still leaving him in the team.

Oh yeah! I would gladly take Elano, sometimes, nowadays.
better kinky, though... ;)

@ Mikhail: I really don't feel the need of reshaffles as it stands now,Pal. This set up had proved to work wonders, Vinnie and Co are top players a nd top blokes: they just need to stick, keep focusing and we will have our defense back at spark.
Hope that Bob will better focus on adjust movements and positional covers by the whole pack of midfielders; as always, it's a team game, we defend and attack altogether.

Not saying that Your suggestion ain't good, just not now, when they clearly appear lost in confusion. more than someone who read a post of mine... ;)

Hi Mancio,

You're probably right about the dangers of unduly reshuffling the defence but Bob seems to like Nasti and, from that perspective, it might seem a logical move to his eyes.

Just a thought but, if we continue to leak goals throughout the season, as another option I wonder if Bob might ever consider reviving a system from Italian footballing history and use Herrera's version of the catenaccio set-up, with Nasti playing as the libero ??

Hasn't been seen for a while now and is undoubtedly obsolete in today's game but it might give some opponents something to think about, although it' might be suited only to big games and against European teams.

Still, it's another option.

He would see that as nothing short of an insult. If we have issues at RB then train all week in the 352 formation and stop dicking around

Garcia in full training since yesterday although Saturday might be a fraction too soon. Maicon was out jogging today so on the way back.

well my Friend,
You'll probably shall find a more enthusiastic backing from Renato on the catenaccio option, then me.
I keep thinking that current leakage is mainly due to a variety of contingencies started with the international duties on summer. It will be sorted sooner than later. it's like when You have learnt to swim or to ski: you don't forget it all life long. these players under the plan A set up had proved to be tight as a fortress for months over months. they cannot have forgot.

On the other hand, while not feeling nostalgic at all of that football era, I agree that You make a good point.
I too have wondered, when we got in front on game of massive importance (say the QPR last season ending and the Barnabeu this season, for the least) why a shrewd manager cannot combine a massive ball possession, with little focus to going forward at risk to lose the balance, and detatch a centerback from the back line by means of sweeper (or even Yaya/now Garcia).
something like a 1-4- 4-1, keeping the ball and always going for the safer passing option, awaiting for the opposition to lose balance in the attempt to pressure and get them in the counter with our fast center forward.
Not the tactics we all would love most, deffo not an entertaining one, but sometimes the greatest just confirm to be great by going for the flesh instead of for the appetizer... ;)
I really would have appreciated an order like that by Mancini as soon as Dzeko despatched that 2nd at few minutes remaining.

@ DH:
great and sensible news brought in.
cheers for that, Sir!
