I come from the opposite background of my Mate General Carl. Always been shy to sing the merit of the military approach.

Although, today we saw it all. the sun, the dark and the sun again in the same 90 minutes
I never thought that our Lads are not committed, nor I do it now.
I am convinced that we already have immense quality, only missing a couple of backup at the same level of our key players. Just to be perfect and almost unstoppable.
This just to say that, even without the benefit of spending wise and effective through a professional sporting director, the current MCFC team SHOULD walk in the park 9 games out of 10.

Apparently, while Class, Skill and Commitment are not to be questioned, if not very marginally, CHARACTERS AND BALLS MUST BE QUESTIONED!
In my very own opinion, absolutely free of any Mancini licking bias, what the last two seasons of CL Campaign show, well ahead of any possible question on Mancini ability to adjust tactics to supposed differences on European games, is that ANY TIME our players hear the CL ANTHEM, they start shitting their pants like soft pussies.
Of recent, this problem, THE MAIN CITY PROBLEM, most possibly due to progressive losing of confidence, seems to apply to domestic performances as well.

My plea and proposed positive suggestion to solve it, is:
IMMEDIATE APPOINTMENT OF CARL AS FIRST ASSISTANT MANAGER, in charge of developing character with all the reliable techniques of the MILITARY TOUCH. I BLOODY MEAN ALL OF THEM, FORCED MARCHES AT NIGHTS AND SO ON.

failing that, if will be proven not enough, then SACK THE MANAGER AT SEASON END and REPLACE HIM WITH THE COMMANDER AT SANDHURST!

Am I just sick, fed up, pissed off and only in the need of steaming off, or there is an almost BASIC TRUTH on the above, borderline, idea.

Carl would have sacked all the players by half time of the first game.

On a related not Mancio other than this thread which boggles the mind I have a simple suggestion which you can ignore or take on board as you wish.

If you stop beginning every post with a paragraph about how much you respect the poster you're responding to, they'd be a shit load shorter and easier to read. I get it you love everyone and respect them, make your point man.

On topic: seriously.
I am not suggesting Carl to care of tactics, with special emphasis on NOT involving him in whatsoever defensive face development.
but I am very much convinced that HE or a person with equivalent character, attitude towards life and background could work wonders in strengthening spine and guts of several our boys. something that we seems to badly miss at times.

I think we can do better than Carl and his 6 weeks in the TA.

the thread was self defined as a borderline hyperbole but talks football nonetheless.
If You consider that lack of character and guts - when something goes wrong - is not an issue with our side and prefer to deem it as just a tribute to Carl's scrotum, fair enough.
Swap a five star general with a sporting psychologist, if You consider it less insane, but the issue has to be addressed. It's bright as the sun and we won't go anyfurther by keep saying that it's manager fault if players don't jump at set pieces or if they see the goal as thick as a hockey one when we need their character to pass by a dodgy start.

You may always go where football is talked by means of saying that hiring Soriano and Berguistein is not for filling two void key roles at the Club but to start the countdown for the manager who restored success at the Club.
On the same surroundings You may be explained that it's managerial fault if the most powerfull lad probably ever appeared in the League cannot be arsed to jump at set pieces: funnily enough the same big lad who won a Champions League final playing at CB.
