Paul Merson

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Paul Merson

Is he back in the good books now since the "love bites" comment? There's not been a negative word about him since.

Has he changed his stance or have you gone soft on him?

The only redeeming quality is you know he loves football from his reactions.

The only redeeming quality is that his addictions should see him off in a couple of years.

Someone should bet him he couldn't snort that lot in 20 seconds and we'd be rid of him for good.

He was happy to join in the unjustified mauling of City's defence on Sports Saturday (Kompany the only one who's top class and he's off form etc.)

Le Tiss excepted they're all sh*t stirring weasels on there.

it's amazing to me that as a journalist you wouldn't get a boner about the excitement that some other club than the fucking boring ass 3 that continually win the League in the Premiership era could win it. it's a fucking shame that there isn't a stronger set of backbones out there to really get excited about what City is doing...there are a couple, but just a few. On average, it's fashionable to slam City.

To be honest, i don't think it hurts our team or our mentality about winning. If everyone was licking us out we'd actually probably hate it. i kinda would. Fuck them all. They can all drop dead for all i care.

cheers

p.s. on topic i did love Merson's reaction to our victory. It's how we all felt...x2.

Deffo agree that it has become fashionable to slam City at every oppurtunity on soccer saturday this season. Stelling has become particularly poisoness and way way over the top. Le tiss and Phil Thompson do however give us credit from time to time.

Just slightly off topic and this is through convos with rag season ticket holders at work very recently ....... this prem season has turned into a particularly bland affair , have the toss pot pundits and journos over cooked the relentless criticism of teams , managers (deffo us) etc etc and clubs are playing with fear? Opinion (at work) seems to be only WBA are playing without fear and reaping the rewards ? Rag opinion also is that Stretford are playing dreadfully !
Not really here

i don't think this season is bland at all....

City, Chelsea, Rags vying for the league....Hammers, Everton, and Baggies playing above their level and in the case of WBA and the Toffees looking quite reasonable at times doing so. Scouse in a funk. Arse blowing it out their, uhm...arse.

Derby upcoming....City finding a way to create drama by fucking up Europe...again. This is going to be a fun season.

cheers

Love the programme. Often watch it over the midday game . Both the presenter and the panel are by far the least pretentious on the tele and easily the most knowledgable(or maybe you prefer Shearer and Lawrenson, lol?)Merson is a man after my heart, he tells it as he sees it. Listen to him pick Wenger apart if you dont believe me.But his tache is a weird one and yes, he often looks as if he's come into the studio from a heavy all night. So what? And what is so offensive about his view that City are "nailed on for the title"?

Seems about right, although you might argue that that's being a little unfair to a head louse, as Merson might not have an IQ that reaches up to that miserably low level.

Safest rule of thumb would be "once a cretin, always a cretin".
