Thoughts on Nastacic?

Postby Ajardine » Wed Nov 28, 2012 3:42 pm

I think Nastacic is much better than Savic (not hard). He seems a good player, fairly decent in the air and with the ball. What is everyone else's thoughts?

I like him. Looks very accomplished and level-headed for a kid.

I still think we should be pairing Kompany and Lescott for league games, but I also thought that Given shouldn't have had to give way for Hart so who knows.

He looks like a star. I just hope he's ready to have to recover from a big fuck up, which he'll be forced to do sooner or later.

Is he better than Lescott though? Bob needs to make a decision and stick with it, Vinnie needs a stable CB partner

I like him in the team and agree he is getting better. I think playing him in front of Lescott isn't a problem and should remain to help the pairing of him and Kompany. I think Lescott is also a better player since the days of rag MH but he has reached his cap due to his age. Nastacic is the future and now is the time for him to grow into this position.

I think nasti is growing into his role and improving his game. Glad he has been able to bounce back from a few early mistakes.

I change my mind on a game by game basis but we have conceded less with him in the side than we did with Lescott........so Ill go with Nasty.

Ted wont agree.

He's a massive step-up from poor Savic. He looks like a proper footballer, reads the game quite well for a defender of his age and is only going to improve, especially if Vinnie can get back to his imperious best alongside him. This should certainly be our long term central defensive partnership.

I thought he was ace in last couple of games

Get rid of kilo toure (love that autocorrect!!) and get another young right footed centre half to back up vinnie

I am well pleased with his progress. I expect him to fuck up now and then as it's part of the learning process.
For me it's not, if he is better than Lescott but will he be better than Lescott in the long term. He seems well worth the risk.

Clearly a top drawer player in the making, but I'm not sure what Lescott did to get dropped in the first place. Must be Kolo gone in January now.

Completely different player than Savic.

Nastacic has slotted in well and looks 100% comfortable playing against the best in the world. Reads the game excellently, tackles when necessary, and has good distribution. Top, top player and only 19!!!!!!!!

One of the future "world class" players. Still young so he will fuck up every now and again. But the ease at which he has fit into the champions in astounding. Give him 1 year to be great, 3 years to be incredible.

Don't pressure him.
he might do a couple of howlers every now and then, but definitely proper stuff and quick learner in the most demanding league at 19.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

he's good - hard to believe he's only 19

he needs exactly what he is getting, plenty of game time & support from the his team mates, manager and fans
a couple of high profile fuckup's though and his form could drop, could be interesting to see what happens if that day comes, hopefully he'll have the mental strength to cope, and if he does, we've got a star on our hands

Read an article today which if true, makes him first choice if fit. Six starts, four clean sheets, 2 goals let in.
19 years old. imagine if he's gonna be as good as Kompany. nom.
City have soul. United do not.

I'm starting to like him and now prefer him over Joleon. He's 19 so can only improve with experience. He nearly scored the other day at the Bridge and looks a threat at our corner kicks (I miss Micah !!).

It was his back injury mate according to Platt mate.

He's a better footballer than Lescott, whether he's gonna be a more reliable defender against big lumps, is another question.

Really surprised at how reserved everyone seems about this guy. I think he's absolutely brilliant, or at least will be in the near future. Looks so comfortable on the ball, reads the game well and outpaces a lot of strikers. For a 19 year old I couldn't imagine a better centre half!

Aside from his first couple games here I haven't thought that he's been bad. Surely not great..yet, but he is putting in solid performances. In my opinion, him starting over Lescott is warranted.
