Design and Access Statement: *** City Circle Project, Etihad Campus, Manchester.
The proposal
Over the past 18 months Manchester city Football Club (MCFC) have been looking at various proposals to provide a memorable and lasting landmark for both
City fans and visitors to the stadium.
Through a number of feasibility studies the club has chosen both preferred scheme and location where it believes it can best deliver its required outcomes.
The proposal is to create two granite arcs that around both the East and West Stands of the Etihad stadium, at the Etihad Campus. It is proposed that the arcs
will have both 100mm and 120mm waterjet holes cut into the top facing surface, in which to insert one of three different disks on offer.
Once complete the disks will spell out the words to Manchester City football Club's unofficial song "Blue Moon".
All of the works associated with this project are ground works and the club has undertaken measures to ensure the quality of the proposed finish is of a quality
exceeding the current.
The scheme will not change or impact the flow of traffic around the stadium (no obstacles will be cr ated-~graPhY of the site will remain
unchanged.
Independent tests have also been undertaken regarding slip resistance.
