On A Happier Note - Zabaleta

Postby King Kev » Sun Dec 09, 2012 10:47 pm

I thought he embodied what playing for City in a Derby is all about today.

His effort, passion and work rate are exactly what I want from our players and he thoroughly deserved the goal and armband.

Fantastic player and sets the right example for the direction the owners want to take the club in. A great professional who combines, desire, work rate, passion and skill and never lets City down. One of my all time favourite players and like KK said the perfect choice to take the armband from our injured skipper

Top performance today from Zabaleta he gives such whole hearted effort for the team.He looked devestated when we conceeded that late fluke.A few of our players should take note of his performance today.

If had passed back to Joe in the final minutes I would, however...

He scored in a derby game with the captain armband. What more can we want? This guy really deserves a medal and a staff role after his football career is over.

I am sure that every argie/spanish player that came here, had a word with Zabs before signing with us and then was help settle by our own mancurian.

He is a legend. Quality human and genuine lovable player.

Outstanding: Clichy, Zaba, Yaya, Kompany

Good: Hart, Dzeko, Nasri, Barry, Kolo, Silva

Disappointing: Aguero, Tevez (simply for giving away the free kick), Balotelli, Nastasic

^that is why we couldn't quite win, our strikers were off form

The armband suited him very well and I'm glad he's so high up the pecking order in that regard.

Comfortably the most likeable player at the club for me, hope he never leaves.

Nasri and Hart were good? Nastasic and Tevez were disappointing? Did you even watch the game?!

I wouldn't put Hart in the disappointing box but Nasri for sure. Nastasic and Tevez both played well, particularly Tevez who changed the game when he came on.

Oh and back on topic, Zabba went up another level in my eyes today. The goal and his reaction to the loss are exactly what we all felt.

I agree with your sentiments completely. Every time he has a shot (mostly hitting a bar, regrettably) should result in a VERY deserved goal. Not only does my mate look the spit of him, but he's hands down my most favoured player, as I think he's one of the most consistent performers.

I seriously love Zabaleta and have always said so. He embodies what everybody likes to see in a player; absolute devotion to the club. His celebration of his goal, his reaction after the free kick, you know he loves the club. Mr. Man City in my eyes.
