And over on the other side, Michael Oliver refs the scum against Swansea and then Mike Dean takes over on Boxing Day against Newcastle.

Oliver Seems to be getting a few rag games recently? How many has he done this season so far?

Beaten me on that mate. Think he had truly earned it with hard work, had not he?

Love how announcing refs has become a thing now.

To be fair mate, we shouldn't really have to talk about them but some of their actions have become part of the game. Take Oliver for instance, who's got Swansea v United game. Last season saw many Blues nearly kicking their screens in after deciding that the foul on Fulhams Danny Murphy was not a penalty. Fulham were all over them during that period and it wasn't just City fans who questioned it. I even got a text off my mate to say 'It's in the bag, Oliver's a Red'. I dare to mention the Welbeck penalty against Wigan!

As I said, we shouldn't talk about them but they have become an integral part of the game. They seem to get as much exposure as some of the players and in Clattenburgs case, just as much as Mario. On that note, good to see he's got 2 televised games coming up. I wonder if he'll send Stevie Starfish off when he comes out with his obligatory 'Foul and abusive' language.

I think not.

Michael Oliver, who failed to send Ashley Williams off for the attempted murder of Van Persie, has been given a chance by Fergie to prove to him so he can get their games again ...

Appointed ref for City vs. Stoke on New Year's Day!

I really think that bacon has played the media like a fiddle over this shit. Rags will get every call imaginable in the next month or so and City will get shit and shoved in it. Watch.

Ye of little faith.if we score 3/4 goals as we could have done against a few teams we've played this season so far the ref can have fuck all to do with the outcome.simply take our chances job done.

That wasn't mind games mate, nor was it him deflecting away from his team. That was him losing it because the pressure of the league is beginning to show.

He doesn't have to play a blinder to keep the media quiet, they do it anyway.

It's funny how, no matter what a degenerate, desperate, crass, rabid, mendacious, ludicrous or hypocritical outburst the Govan piss-can comes out with, people always think it's some kind of 'masterstroke'. The truth is, to play 'mind-games', you must have a mind to begin with.

Regardless of his intent the impact will be the same. Hope I'm wrong but I expect them to to get bailed out by referees to avoid dropping points twice by end Jan. This will be a big reason why.

I agree with you mate, the ref's will be all-out to make sure Taggart is a happy bunny once again.

Don't people think that it would be more beneficial for us to say we are glad so and so is reffing us just on the off-chance that it could make the ref think "I will be fair with them.they seem to like me".

I think the ref's for us recently have been quite good. No real controversial decisions and we've actually had a few things go for us. It's quite surprising when I look at a game and think the ref has done his job rather than try to spoil the game.

The Rags are a different animal though. Taggarts rant will have them on their toes and the biggest thing for me is how he hasn't been sanctioned for his rant against Oliver. Telling the football world that it was terrible refereeing, not giving them anything and blaming it on Olivers immaturity is way and above what a manager should be getting away with. Afterall, didn't Martinez get sanctioned for far less.
