Mancini 3 years today

It's three years today since he was appointed manager.How time flies when your having fun.
Of course he has his faults and we may from time to time antagonise over his team selection but he has been doing a superb job.
Some transformation in the time he has been at the club, no longer typical old City.

I recall watching his first game against Stoke in a bar in Cambodia, with only hookers and a mad English guy who owned the bar and later that night set it on fire. Seems a life time ago.
Being a grumpy football fan I believe we won the league despite him last season and we have been criminally crap in Europe. However, if you had told me that we would have won the league and FA cup three years ago I would have biten your hand off.
One more year with Bob please.

On 19 December 2009, it was announced that former Inter boss Roberto Mancini had agreed to become City’s new manager.
An FA Cup, a Premier League title and three years later, the Italian’s stock has never been higher, so what better time to look at some of Mancini's key Premier League stats as City boss to celebrate his three year anniversary?
Winning mentality: Roberto Mancini has won 70 of his 114 Premier League games in charge of the Blues (61.40%).
Isolated incident: City have only lost back to back Premier League games once under Mancini, which were against Arsenal and Wolves back in October 2010.
Goal rush: City have only failed to score on 22 occasions under Mancini in the Premier League. (19.30% of matches).
Rotation method: Roberto has named 61 different players in his Premier League matchday squads since Dec 09’
Small margins: The last time City were beaten by more than a single goal under Mancini was in April 2011 (a 3-0 loss away to Liverpool at Anfield).
Captain fantastic: Vincent Kompany has started 102 Premier League games under Roberto (89.47%).

Mancini has done a superb job.
If somebody had said to you 3 years ago when we were hanging on against Sunderland in Mark Hughes last game, with our defence all over the shop, leaking two, three goals in a lot of matches, that 3 years later we would be the current Champions of England, residing in 2nd place in the table and won the FA Cup in May 2011 then I know everyone would have taken it. Also I did not think we would get to where we are this quickly.
The team framework and shape that is in place, the way we have defended in those three years and the unbelievable home form we have shown in his tenure are all huge positives.
Yes there have been disappointments, our forays into Europe being the most obvious example but Rome was not built in a day and every manager has ups and downs in a reign - look at Ferguson.
Domestically Mancini has done all we could have wished for and more. In Europe, there is work to be done.

When I try to respond to some of my rag friends talking against Roberto and saying there are so many managers that could do better than him, I simply ask Who, fuckface?

How anyone can question his achievements is beyond me. Yeah we all ask questioins when he makes a silly decision but ultimately I trust his judgement.

Me too mate. I'd say it was worth the wait but I'd have prefered it sooner and with less of a dramatic end. I think I'm still recovering, even now.

Talking about being two one down to QPR with five minutes left.
Lescott: "From then on it became a blur. Everytime we got a corner or set piece, Vinny and I would take it in turns to go up, then we'd go up together. THE MANAGER WAS SCREAMING AT US TO STAY BACK BUT WE JUST PRETENDED WE COULDN'T HEAR HIM"
So with the title slipping away Bob wanted to be cautious, but the players ignored him and attacked.

You can see Mancini shouting in the link I posted, shouting 'Lescott' but then gives up as he knows he's ignoring him.
