Put yourself in the head of the Norwich coaches this weekend.
Do you tell your team to go out and attack City on your own pitch? Or do you look at the names of Tevez, Aguero, Silva et al and think shit?
You know that if you try and attack City, those players will rip your defence a new arse and leave you destroyed. You have watched the videos and seen what happens when other teams have tried. You have also seen what happens if you park the bus and tell your team to forget trying to win the game, the best you can realistically hope for is a draw, unless you get a lucky break and steal a goal.

So you tell your team to revert back to a 10/11 man defensive wall iside your own goal area. You set them up to give those City forwards no space to pass, no room to move or rum into. You also tell them to ensure they defend deep and make sure there is no room behind them, thus cutting down the chances of City getting behind them or using the over the top ball to run on to.

You verse your team in the art of sliding as a group across the area in close formation to ensure that a mobile wall is in place each time City move the ball across the face of your defence.

...and finally you tell them to all this as soon as City get the ball to ensure that they can't use speed as a weapon against you.

They will NOT be the same instructions you will give your team when they play against the rags. You will tell your team that they can punish the rags defence and score goals themselves.

In that way, what we are encountering .....eees normaaal. (for teams setting up against city)

Just remember a few months ago we (City) were 3rd favourites to win the Champions League this season behind Barca and Madrid ..... that / this is our status in Euoropean / World club football . Without stating the obvious we have slipped alarmingly this season.

We really do need to be scoring more goals and more importantly our owners dont do mediocre.

As intimated in my preview, what we need is more variety in our attack. We never seem to take advantage of what I call "chaos situations." ie, the opposition turning the ball over in midfield. We don't take enough long shots. And when we attack from wide our delivery this season hasn't found a blue shirt enough. And finally, our forwards haven't really created opportunities for themselves. Tevez wonderstrike at home against.........um.......Swansea? was the last goal scored as a result of individual brilliance by our forwards.

good point. it does seem that we've really not seen the kind of quality finishing from them as we have in the past.

whether it's the park the bus approach to defending us that teams' use or not, the talent level on the pitch should garner a few goals as such.

we've certainly encountered some good keeping to cause us some problems here as well, like against sunderland.

Yes we were the best team in England last season

the bookies made us 3rd favourites behind Barca and Madrid for the CL , we were considered a better team than Stretford thats why we were clear favourites to win this years title last summer alongside being 3rd favourites for the CL ...... whether i agree with the bookies is another matter.

Moving on ........ once you are over your rant please read back through ALL my posts and you will soon come to the conclusion that I AM FIRMLY behind bobby manc , always have been and always will be . I want my lifelong beloved clubto stay stable and to win trophies whilst this wonderfull era of stupendous wealth and well being is upon us . ALL managers fuck up from time to time ...... Taggert has done so probably more than any other successfull manager , he has lost the rags CL finals and league titles during his reign . NO MANAGER is beyond critiscm , something lost on a few posters on here !

Moving on again ....... Fabulous result today , possibly our most important result this season so far and we scored goals even with just 10 men on the pitch away from home. All this thread is about is the fact imho if we get back to scoring plenty of goals no matter how the opposition is set up we will become unbeatable and retain our hard earned TITLE ...... isnt that what we all strive for ?

As strange as this may seem to you and some others, the team that wins the League and finishes as champions ain't necessarily the best team....and after that early phase when we were given the room to sweep all before us, we certainly weren't the most successful in garnering points. (do the maths).

I haven't a clue what the bookies projected for our CL chances but anyone taking bookies odds to define how they judge football teams is....I shall retreat from being insulting.

I totally agree with all your points in your last paragraph, especially the bit about all managers fucking up, Mancini included.
