Surprisingly, this match has sold out. Watford are bringing 6-7000 with them and though the club have done well on the pricing with adult tickets 15-20 quid but the Colin Bell Stand Level 3 is still closed for the match so we could have got even more in. With this in mind I am guessing the capacity will be around 42,000??

I thought they'd opened the CB 3rd stand? I say this because one of the lads on the Cup Scheme had to move due to it being classed as closed but then another, not on the Cup Scheme, then purchased his own seat in the CB 3 at a later time.

Still, a great turnout and should be a good game. Watford are playing really well.

Perhaps they did decide to open up the Colin Bell Level 3 then after all. I have my season ticket there and we were moved to level 2 but maybe the demand has been such that they have had to open it.

Either way, as you say a very good turnout and will be a difficult game as Watford have got some useful players and we could well do without a replay or worse.

The CB Third Tier was opened up over 7 days ago, and the tickets have sold out in there this week. Shows what happens when you sensibly price a game.

Fuck me this is a MASSIVE surprise. Suppose being on a sat and a decent price goes a long way though.

So anyone want to buy a ticket. Bottom tier. £10 with a free parking space?

I desperately need a massive favour.

The mrs is from Watford and we're moving to Cyprus next month. Never taken her to a game and would love to before we go.

Does anyone know of two tickets going? Next to each other ANYWHERE.

Any help really would be genuinely appreciated. It would mean a lot to me.

I watched it as well mate and was quite impressed with the young lad that they have on loan from Chelsea (Chalobah). Tall and athletic midfielder who used the ball quite well and usually selected the right pass to play. If he keeps up his current rate of development I think he will be some player.

Go down to the ground on saturday around 2pm and stand by the Merecedes garage on Ashton New Rd, just before the stadium main entrance. There will be 3 or 4 touts around there - always is - who will sort you out, and probably for face value or less as well.

Cheers goaters, appreciated. Just trying to sort something else in advance. The mrs already thinks I'm a useless clown without making her stand in the pissing rain for an hour......

Fair Play City

They've learnt from experience and realised that the price does matter in the Cup. Full house is more important than the revenue sometimes.

I'll never forget that League Cup SF last year when the teams ran out to a half empty stadium (cos it was £40 and the 4th home game on the bounce, second against Liverpool) and the air immediately went out the team.

I am also sat up there. I was going to try & give this one a miss, but I caved in & went to the ticket office after Stoke. Only seats they had to offer me were in the CB top tier, & not very good ones either.

People saying we shouldn't expand the ground, please shut the fuck up.

Cracking news that this is sold out. My ST is 328 but I'm bringing the missus and we're sitting in the corner of the north stand/east stand, level 2.

I'm bringing 4 more with me, hoping for a good win and performance.

£1 for kids is a great move by City. My youngest, who hasn't a season card, can't wait!

You have to bear in mind that for Cup games, the opposition club takes a 25% share of the income, and therefore they have to agree to the price reductions too. I suspect City would happily reduce the prices for every cup game, but its not that simple unfortunately.

Its one of the reasons United dont lower the prices, clubs going to the swamp in the FA cup know they will get more from 50/60000 at full price, than they will from 75k at half price.

In this case it makes financial sense for watford if you do the maths between 25k at full price, or 48k at half price, there isnt much in it, and they all get to play in front of a full house.

45% to each club, 10% to the pool. (however, none league clubs receive a higher percentage when playing league clubs after the 3rd round)
