You'll hopefully forgive me that this isn't football related. My mate's brother went missing after NYE. His pic's on the link

Please share with anyone you may know from the areas mentioned. Or from my facebook if you know me on there.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for a man who went missing after a New Year’s Eve party in Stockport.

Michael Simpson, aged 22 and from Reddish, was last seen at 2am on 1 January 2013 as he attended a house party on Stockport Road West in Bredbury with friends.

A short time later, Michael became separated from his friends and left the house, but has not been seen since.

Michael is described as slim build, around 5ft 6in tall, with light brown hair and blue eyes, and wears black framed glasses.

At the time of his disappearance, Michael was wearing a black V-neck jumper with a white T-shirt underneath, blue jeans and white trainers.

Detective Inspector Julia Bowden from Stockport CID said: “Michael has never been missing before and as people can imagine, his family and friends are absolutely beside themselves with worry that Michael has not returned from his night out.

“Officers are working to piece together Michael’s movements in the lead up to his disappearance and we are appealing for anyone that may have seen him in the early hours of New Year’s Day to get in touch with us.

“You may think your information is only trivial, but it could be vital to our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police at Stockport CID on 0161 856 9740.

Ta for reading.

No help from me mate but it may help if the lads picture is within the thread.

Having 3 kids myself between the age of 17 and 25 it sends shudders down my spine reading about things like this. Let's hope he comes home OK and has a decent reason for his absence.

My ex used to live right near there. It's not the nicest place. Me and her dad had to chase two lads from a house they were trying to rob.

I hope he's found soon alive and well. I've put it on my Facebook page to share.

Nice one. If anyone who's from there/knows someone who is could do the same, you never know, it might help, so thanks in advance.

City are gonna do something tomorrow on the screens, which is good.

That is a misguided insinuation mate. We do not know how he went missing as yet and it may well be that he's just had an accident, so please do note presume that he's been involved with anybody. This lad went to school at the same time as my sweetheart's son. Very concerning times indeed. Let's all hope that he turns up safe and well.
