Arse have apparently made a bid of £12,500,000 for Villa, seriously is a player I would love to see at City, he is world class and has proven it, do you think we'd be missing out big time if he went to Arsenal, or should we try to get him?

Great player but 31 and just back from almost a year out with injury. We've bought enough cripples in the past. Now if we could get him on loan!

I'd probably do a loan swap for Balo if Barça were interested. That might suit all parties for five months. Other than that I'm not too arsed. Generally speaking, we shouldn't be in the market for 30-somethings.

I agree. Think he'd do a job short term. If he's as good as he was he should score quite a few for us.

I'd sign him for 12 millions NO DANGER.
Quality player and if he has been out for a year he will be a year fresher,i remember all this he's a crock,he this he's that,he's to old.

Now currently plying his trade in Trafford after bagging near 20 leagues goals already.

Villa is one of the best finishers around, yes he might have lost a yard but putting the ball in the onion bag you dont lose that knowledge.

If we have a chance to do this deal and try to sign him we should definitely take it.

Villa is proven class for years at club and international level, has linked up very well with David Silva at Valencia for a number of years and also he can play not only as a centre forward in the 4-2-3-1 formation favoured by Mancini, but also could play across any of the '3' behind the main striker.

Ideal scenario for me in this transfer window would be to sell Balotelli for £15m ish to Milan - perfectly possible as Pato was sold to Corinthians yesterday and Robinho is likely to be sold aswell to Santos. Therefore Milan will require at least 1 centre forward to be signed and they will have the funds to sign Balotelli. The other side of the scenario is for us to sign Villa for £12m - would be good business, get a top pro and proved class player in and let go of a talented but lunatic centre forward.

Best days in the rear view mirror. Wouldnt touch at age 31, and coming off a broken leg, with a barge pole.

Haven't researched any of this myself, so I have to ask; how verifiable are these apparent sources? Arsenal do put about a lot of propaganda to appease their fans re trying to improve their squad.

Could be rubbish. Wouldn't be surprised if Wenger was in cahoots with them trying to drive Villa's price up in case we wanted him. Ok, that's paranoia, sorry.

Anyway, sources please, I'm feeling more lazy even than usual.

Would take him on loan, quality finisher but as many have said at 31 and after a leg break 12+ Million is a risk.

Pass. He'd be a good loan but if we sign a player it should be a hungry talented young player looking to force his way into the first team and show up the established stars. Someone like.........John Guidetti.

No deals. Players out perhaps but we don't need anyone in.

The commentators are always saying he plays for us anyway.

I am all for it ... bring him in. He and Silva will link up nicely up front and re-ignite our attack what has somewhat been sleeping half the season.

Whether him or someone else, we do need 1-2 signing this Jan window simply to shake up the team as complacency is slowly drifting in.

Given we won't be signing a Cavani or Falcao in Jan, he is the perfect guy, a big name still and cheap comparatively. A loan till the end of the season would be ideal but even at £12m if that means us getting a little shake up and winning the League, it'll be the best 12m spent.

Also remember on his own he might be 1, and without him Silva 1 but them two together is 1+1=11 ... just watch some of their Spain videos.

With you all the way here.

They have an amazing understanding together. I think it could be the difference in winning the league and I'd love to see us get him.

Fuck the 12m, leave it up to the money men to worry about ffp.

Would he improve the squad? Definitely.

The rags paid double that for a guy who is nearly 30.I would pay the money for Villa he just knows where the net is and him and Silva were almost telepathic at Valencia.
