Suarez Admits Cheating?

Listening to the radio before and they were talking about an interview that Suarez gave to a South American media outlet. Apparently he admitted to cheating when he dived to get a penalty against Stoke (?) and also said that United manipulate every UK media outlet.

Anybody seen or heard anything?

At least he had the balls to admit it. 98% of footballers cheat

Suarez admits to Stoke dive
Wednesday 16th January 2013 18:57

Luis Suarez has admitted his critics were right to accuse him of diving to win a penalty against Stoke this season.

In an extensive interview with Fox Sports Argentina the Liverpool forward repeated claims that he is treated differently by the media because of his South American background and again accused the press of being at Manchester United's beck and call.

But Suarez held up his hands over a dive at Anfield in October which led Stoke manager Tony Pulis to call for the a suspension.

He said: "I don't listen all the nonsense some people say about me. I'm accused of cheating here. People say I throw myself all the time inside the box.

"They said that when we played against Stoke, for instance, and in that case they were right. I invented a foul because we were drawing and I wanted to win.

"Sometimes on the pitch I say to myself, "What have I done?" But the name of Suarez sells papers."

The Uruguayan was recently accused of deliberately handling the ball moments before his winning goal at non-league Mansfield in the FA Cup.

But he said: "I touched the ball with my hand accidentally, and I was criticised because I kissed my hand. I say to the media: you should talk more about football, not about other stuff."

Suarez is yet to be forgiven by some supporters for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra - an offence which earned him an eight-match ban last season.

He said: "When someone comes and says to me something bad about being a South American, I don't cry, because that happens inside the pitch.

"I have my conscience clean. But as I have said: Manchester United controls the media, they are powerful and the media will always help them.

"It's complicated to play here in England. As Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero have said, it's complicated for a South American footballer to be here as we are treated differently to the local footballers."

I thought Carlos and Kun were happy here. Or have the rag papers been spreading more lies about their hatred for our club and country!

I thinks it more to do with the referees.

Referees have a tough job, but refereeing must be like being a teacher. You know before the lesson begins which kids to keep an eye on and which are likely to fuck around and cheat.
Surely referees know which players are more prone to diving, cheating and those who are nasty bastards. Aguero and Tevez are not divers, nor are they cheats, so they should be treated fairly and without bias.
Suarez has admitted to the occasional dive, so look at his falls more closely.
Makes sense to me.

Useful and interesting analogy. And good sense.

That's the thing though, I know Silva is in the grey area, where he knows he's been fouled, but also knows it won't be called unless he goes to ground. As a result I think he has a reputation of going down softly if not being an out and out diver.

how many times have we seen silva or aguero stay on their feet after being fouled (sometimes quite harshly), and getting nothing even though the move breaks down because of that clear foul? In light of how shite the refs can be, can't say that I blame a player too much for going down easy, or looking to draw a foul ... as long as it's not against us, because then he's a cunt.

Honestly, I don't consider diving to be cheating, diving is a calculated risk because if refs in this league weren't blind and bent, they'd send players off for it. As much as is tugging back a player who is going up for a header in the box. By the letter, it's a penalty, and maybe a red card depending on the situation ... but you cannot be a defender at the highest levels if you don't learn to do it, and to walk the line with it. It all just showcases how shite the refs are, which is obvious to everyone, and how bias the media is, which comes through in how they try to explain how the slightest contact gives certain players 'a right' to drop to the ground like they are shot, while others get crucified for it. Mario could get tugged and kicked repeatedly in the same move, but then when he decides to go down, it was 'weak','not a foul, just good hard play' or he was 'playing it up too much' ... we've heard it all many many times.

In fact, i'm glad suarez talks about this more ... maybe it will lead to us NOT having the most reviled player in the history of the prem. Think about that, mario, who in my opinion is most commonly guilty of being lazy (sometimes extremely), is by far the most hated player in the PL ... meanwhile there are racists, divers, bent refs, boot lickers and sycophants at all levels enjoying public adoration.

NOT in Fergie's lifetime, though.

Good and sensible post, nonetheless.

Its Rodgers who looks the idiot in all this, I mean, he has come across today like the fact that Suarez dived has never crossed his mind.

Fucking discpline him, give me a break, thatmight have worked had Rodgers had the balls to say what the whole footballing world was thinking at the time, but he didnt he stayed quiet because it suited him

This is hardly like Suarez has drawn his attention to the incident..........Rodgers is a cunt
