Needs his chance now, let Balotelli go and give a hungry young player a chance who actually wants to meet his potential on the field.

Not gonna happen. Id let him go out on loan this window to build up fitness/ confidence ready for next season.

I'd definitley be selling mario in the summer.

Agree, but needs to be an English club due to the differences in football. I'm not sure him going to Italy, for instance, would tell us much.

Problem could be fitness in the window, but I think players can be loaned to the Championship after our window shuts, so a couple of months there and back for the last month or so of the premier league, just in case we need him.

Ok, so i guess there was no random negative news on Mario in the press today? So why not start a random thread about a guy who has not kicked a ball competitivley since before Michael Johnson was fat and have a dig at Mario at the same time? Great combo mate.

Have any of the posters calling for Guidetti to take Mario's place actually ever seen him play? I like the lad and hope he gets a chance at some point WHEN FIT! But tbh, I think we are probably a bridge too far for him. Think he will become a decent player for a mid-table Prem team, but nothing more than that. Did well at Feyenoord, most goals did come from the penalty spot however. Kalou and Kuyt did even better for the same club btw and looked a class above him tbh but who knows how he will develop

Whether he will be good enough for us who knows. His effort for Feyenoord last season were excellent then sadly came his illness. He isn't ready yet for first team football anywhere but a loan somewhere would probably be his best opportunity this season and then maybe just maybe for next season.

He's getting the same treatment bojinov and to a certain extent MJ got. They've been out of the picture for so long that some fans build up their ability in their head.

I've only seen bits of him in action so I've no idea how good he is or good he can become.

Guidetti made a goal scoring appearance for the EDS (I think) last weekend. He played 45 minutes to be built up over next couple of matches. Piece is on the OS.

I'd love to see him given a couple of substitute appearances to prove his worth. He certainly has talent, whether enough for City remains to be seen.

A loan to an English side, preferrably Premier League to really test him, would suit the player and the club at this stage. That's his preferrance too as he's refused a loan to Italy.

You can't say he couldn't fit in because he hasn't had the chance to prove him self yet. Give him a chance or loan him out. His first touch has got to be better than dzeko

Just give it time. He scored against reading under 21's with a tap in at the far post from a free kick. His fitness needs to be worked on and the last thing he or City want is to push it too quickly. He is far from ready yet imo.

i suspect that depends on which of the dr. dzeko/mr. dzonkey pairing you're referring to...

High hopes, fingers crossed, come on Guidetti. Next is Lopes, we need more people as awesome as Hart coming from our academy. People words cant express how much I am waiting for the Guidetti's debut.

He was out for a long time without doing any training.

It would be an incredible achievement for him to get any kind of match sharpness so quickly, even if fit. If he's the slightest bit rusty, there will be countless 'experts' amongst City's fans who will immediately decide he isn't good enough.

I hope we are not going to put too much pressure on this lad. He has a chance of making it.

Hart didn't come through our academy mate. We paid about half a million quid to Shrewsbury for him when he was about 18 if I remember correctly. Nice sentiment though:o)

If we start working on the rags' bullshit level, he did. Along with Nastasic & Balotelli ;)

Thanks Burt, you are right as always Ted.

I hope Doug puts some special attention on Guidetti progress in his training reports :)

The best thing for Guidetti would have been for us to get someone like David Villa on loan, in this transfer window, to tide us over until until the end of the season (now looking most unlikely that we'll get anyone in).

Thereafter, Guidetti could have been given a full pre-season set of games to asses his status and readiness, with a view to him being the fourth of our strikers in 2013/2014.

As Mr H. has said, he's nowhere near to being ready to play for anyone at the moment.
