I do not think it is a coincidence the first time he plays on the left he scores two goals, looks much more suited to that side of the pitch.

He is suited to playing wherever the hell he likes as long as he is attacking.

Wish he'd finished that chance for his hatrick! Quality today though.

When he scored the goals he came from a more central position, he should always roam.

Slight change of subject but yesterday his second goal was a real quality, clinical finish, which baffles me as to why 9/10 times he bottles it infront of goal.

Because normally there are 11 players to try and shoot through. Because teams set up to be negative as fuck against the Champions of England. Because as many on here suggested, and City's management staff have obviously noted (proof - last 2/3 games) if we have a pop from outside the area a few times, some of their bus will come out to try and stop that, thus leaving actual human space in behind for us to work. Because fuck you, that's why. David Silva is a gene. Cheers.

Erm, answer the question you tard. None of that answers why often when given good goal scoring chances he bottles it and misses. Nothing to do with how teams set up because he does get chances, he just misses.
Fabulous player, i'm not saying otherwise but he would really be up there with the very best if he added a goalscoring threat to his game.

How the hell is he supposed to know the answer to it?

Well he gave the answer to a different question...
I'm not asking for an answer, but if he tries to give one, at least make it somewhat relevant.

I did, at the end.

No, you didn't. You ended by saying 'fuck you'. What a fantastic debate.
He gets chances a plenty and misses, nothing to do with how other teams set up.

It's not the first time he's played on the left.

Oh FFS, I don't come on here often enough to know if you troll like this alot but my answer was relevant to your question. Most of the chances he gets are 50/50 at best, because of the way teams set up. They're rarely clear-cut, 1-on-1 situations, 2 out of 3 of which he scored yesterday. He is the linkiest of link-up players, the slinkiest of passers, retains the ball as well as Yaya who is twice his size, tracks back and tackles better than Yaya who is etc., and has really cool hair. What more do you want?

absolutely superb going forward from the left, my only slight concern is that when he's the only defence in front of clichy, he can get caught out quite a bit, usually gaz is there to cover, but there were a couple of occasions yesterday when clichy had the FB and W running at him. but like when aguero was playing LM in that game a while ago.
did we set up in a 4-4-2 yesterday? looked like it?

I dont believe this is the right formation for City and Silva to succed in.
My new lineup:
(4-3-3)
Hart
Zaba-Vinnie-Nastasic-Clichy
Garcia-Yaya-Barry
Aguero-Mario-Silva
