Do we rest for the FA Cup?

We obviously want to win this, but I feel the league should be priority. Do we rest key players like Zaba & Clichy? They have very good understudies, I'd also give Mario a start, Kun some decent game time & Rodwell too.

Our failure in the cups this season and our five point deficit mean we should not be pissing about, taking chances with the FA Cup. No midweek slog for our players says that we can and should select our strongest XI. there are no 'fatigue' excuses.

If we don't win the league surely the powers that be are going to take a good look at our champions league and league cup results.
Can't see bobby wanting to add FA cup to the list of fuck ups this season.

Stoke away = no brainer!!! Full strength squad. However if in next round we draw some team from lower divisons then yes blood some young kids.
This is where i am a bit more confident of losing the shackles of typical city!!!

FA Cup is always a priority. Mancini has already said we want to win it. Were not too big to want the FA Cup. Another stupid thread ffs

Look at the team we put out against Watford - I think Mancini wants to win it.
As for the decent understudy to Zaba, who is it who's fit? The only option would be Milner playing there.

No chance, out of the champions league, we should be trying to win this. Full strength side.

I'd play Kolarov, resting Clichy. Give Mario a run out. We've got a great squad, I would use it. Rodwell & Kun need game time too. That's not weakening our team, just rotating & resting players.

We have no need to rest anybody except perhaps Zabba, as we haven't got that many games left.

This.
The Cup is our most realistic hope of lifting silverware this season - which is what we play the game for. Top 4 place wise we are secure, play the best team we can and go for it. No fookin Pantilimon.

Question to ask yourself: Which silverware do you think this season is more likely for us? Premier League or the FA Cup? Sure we all would like the double but the answer lies in there ... full strength, go for the jugular and a win outright, don't even think about a draw for a return fixture at ours ... c'mon City!

Dunno about you guys but I'm tired of managers resting players when they should be playing a full strength squad. Players are paid 100k a week and train 2 or 3 times a week, it's their job. They should be fully able to play 2 matches a week and still be fit for next week no problem, you'd expect it considering they are supposed to be athletic, Fat Sam rested 4 of his players and it did him fuck all.

It's not only about resting people, though. It's also about giving other players in the squad some game time.

Absolutely right. It's not a black and white first team or kids scenario. Our bench on Saturday was Lescott,Nasri,Aguero,Mario,Kolarov and Rodwell.Hardly kids are they so if they all play we can rest,Nasti,Milner,Tevez,Edin ,Clichy and Barry.
We won't though :)

i don't rest. Night before the match i might try and get to bed a little bit early, but the entire week before i've probably been doing a lot of travelling, big fuck off highly caloric business dinners, loads of cocktails, and the day of? ill get up...black coffee, fry some eggs. Hell, most days i don't even go to the matches. You can rest when yr dead.
cheers

i'd play kolorov because he's a hardnut and Stoke need another kick in the pants. If god awful Chelsea can do , so can we
