Of course we dont want people going around spouting bollox all the time with one foot in their mouth (no names mentioned).
But I think it would be nice to hear from Khaldoon, Soriano or Begiristain now and again. As far as I know of those 3 we've just had one bland statement from Soriano on takeover and Khaldoon's comments in the annual report.
Maybe they are waiting to see what happens/finalise plans? Maybe they just want to let actions do the talking. Maybe they are baffled?
But I reckon we are due a statement of intent. Do we intend to expand the ground? In one stage? In two stages? What are our preparations for FFP? What is our current, updated 20-year plan (bearing in mind Vieira's recent '20-year dynasty' statement?
No boasting, no bollox, just a few crumbs!

I perfer it this way where they give their statement at the end of the season. Mancini is the face of Man City, just like Taggart, Wenger et al.

Why are we due anything? This club is owned by one of the richest men in the world. He has appointed his own personal right hand man in charge who in turn has appointed 2 of the leading men in European football. Let them get on with it. When there is something to be said the most appropriate person will say it
I love the way the media are kept out of the club of course it does not stop them spouting rubbish but when was the last time anybody in the media got a scoop at this club
Lets just be grateful

I read that Sky Rag (Skrag for short) Gary Cooper was on the panel as well. I might have been pissed though.

Not sure I'd want Wenger as the face of City. Would be funny to see Taggart do it though, just so we could sack him

I don't want statements from them at all unless if they have something concrete to say or that we need to know. Aside from the ground, they are hardly going to annouce things about FFP mid-season.
We have it very good as for the past 3 seasons, Khaldoon will sat down as usual with Chris Bailey on the website and do a half hour interview, which will cover the plans for next season, the review of this season etc. Proper way to run the club.
As someone said in this thread, Mancini is the face of City

It looks like me and thee agin the rest then John, cos I have long considered our public image to be our club's biggest weakness.
We are getting hammered by the press who create opinions, accused of ruining the national and even European game. We seem to have few friends in football, hardly any in the mainstream media and have been victims of speculation, ridicule and in some instances almost sheer hatred.....and we fight back with silence.
Who is Sheik Mansour? Nobody knows, even as fans on here that follow the club's every movement, even we see only the odd glimpse, every once in a while. Is it any wonder that the media have a free hand to create their own image of him?
In Khaldoon,we have a cool as fuck boss. On the rare occasions we have seen him interviewed he has been pretty awesome. Confident, full of charisma and charm without the smarm. A perfect tool and vehicle for the club to explain our club and to project the club's public image to the World.
Whenever he has done an interview, it has been a staged one for the OS. We need to unleash him onto the media. We need to get our story across.
Mancini as the public face of City football is fine but for a business as big as ours, with the ambitions we have, considering the media treatment we get, it seems ridiculous to rely on a man with 2nd rate English.

Yep - I agree John. It's all one-way anti City crap and it's left to us supporters to constantly defend us against - in most cases - sheer ignorance. On things like Skytext 459 where myself and a few other hardy souls battle constantly, and on TEAMTALK, and on some TV shows.
But the general fan is just so ignorant of City on FFP, a little official 'setting the record straight' would be nice.

John let the haters hate why does it matter to you what others write or say?
It is clearly not our owners way to jump up and down saying look at me, look at me. We are doing things quietly and with a clear plan in mind. Can you imagine the fuss if Utd Arsenal or Liverpool announced the plans for an academy that we are getting built
Let City continue doing what its doing its not affecting results or our ability to win so dont worry!!

To any major company with any ambition, public image is a huge issue. That's why there are billions spent on advertising.
We do hardly anything in this respect, considering we are a brand with global ambitions.

I'm sure if the owner/Khaldoon feel there is a problem, they will do something about it. This isn't just about City to them, it's about Abu Dhabi, Maybe they feel to date they'd have been too exposed by our spending? If this window carries on as it has though, they'll be in a strong position to come out fighting in February, IF they want to.

Just seen that & it does look like the event in question, which was originally billed as being Soriano & Mancini but seems to have been just Mancini with that cunt from Sky.
