Season Finally Shaping Up

Postby AG7 » Sat Jan 26, 2013 3:26 pm

Are we finally getting to grips this season?

That's the Emirates and Britannia hoodoo's banished already. We couldn't go and win at Goodison, could we?

Don't tempt fate. Although, I must say I was totally in awe of the way we ripped Arsenal a new one.

We're having a much better January than last year. This will be important.

That's 6 wins on the trot since the loss against the BlackCats, 5 wins on the trot without conceding a goal and won every game since the turn of the year. Add to that the 15 goals then it's hard to say that we aren't doing a bad job. The thing is though, we still seem to have an extra gear or 3 and if we can get everyone firing we'll be a real threat to the Rags 5 point lead.

I wonder? We know that teams hit peak fitness and form at certain times, maybe we are strating to hit ours just at the right time. The hangover has truely been dropped.

Yes we are hitting form at the right time ... but will it sustain all the way till the end? As that is what is needed ...

Last year we started off flying, then had this dip and ended in form again ... this year we never really started and well now are kind of on song ... though still not in top gear yet, which is what I hope we'll get into and not the other way around.

It's all about mentality mate. If they've got it then they'll push through. If they've not then ..............

Personally I think we've got it and the attitude to push on will ensure we are there going into the final sprint. For me it's whether we'll be allowed to be there or it will be made a formality. It may sound a little paranoid but after watching them win by default on so many occasions it does worry me that it won't just be about the beautiful game.

Maybe Schudamore and the head sheds from Sky may take offence to the proposed 'Sky 4s' plans, then we'll see a real battle to the end.

Another big week, but we've had a great start to it (Kompany injury aside).

If we can beat QPR, we put pressure on the rags ahead of a fairly routine game against Southampton. However, it's against a Southampton team with a new manager, so who knows. Then Liverpool. That should be a routine win against a mid table side, but they will raise their game, as they always do against the big teams (that annoys them so much).

Win both and I've got a feeling that gap could be a bit smaller.
