http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... er-1571638 Argy bargy: Carlos Tevez heads massive Man City summer clear-out
2 Feb 2013 22:31
Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri, Joleon Lescott, Scott Sinclair, Aleksandar Kolarov and Maicon will all be allowed to leave Eastlands

Carlos Tevez will be allowed to leave Manchester City as the champions plan a massive summer clear-out.
The Argentine striker has shown no inclination to sign a new deal at the Etihad Stadium as he pines for a return to his South American roots.
As his current deal moves into its final 12 months, City will look to recoup some cash on a player who will turn 29 on Tuesday by making it clear they will listen to offers.
Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri, Joleon Lescott, Scott Sinclair, Aleksandar Kolarov and Maicon are also being lined up for the Etihad exit door.

Dzeko and Nasri have not justified their huge transfer fees or wages, while there are no plans to offer Lescott a new contract as he enters the final 12 months of his current deal.
The futures of Gareth Barry and James Milner are also in the balance.
Barry, who will be 32 later this month, will also enter the final year of his contract next season.
Roberto Mancini is already working with chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain on plans to rebuild the City squad.
Happy slappers: Nasri could be following Balotelli out the door
But they are also looking at how they can make room for new faces in what promises to be a busy summer at the club.
Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz, on loan at Brighton and Malaga respectively, will also be free to leave when their contracts expire.
And Kolo Toure and No.3 keeper Richard Wright will not be offered contract extensions.
That alone will cut the club’s annual wage bill by £12million.
City have already banked £20m from the sale of Mario Balotelli to AC Milan last week – a move which is saving them £170,000-a-week in wages.

- Tevez
- Dzeko
- Nasri

- Kolarov

- Sinclair
TO BE RELEASED (contracts expiring this summer):

Dont agree at all on Lescott and Kolarov...the latter should be transformed into a back up winger, not a left back.
Sinclair and Nasri can go for me...the latter only if we get a decent sum.
Maicon can go for sure, never understood that signing at all.
Dzeko too if we can get some decent money.
I think we should definitely trim the fat and stop buying for buying's sake. but only sell players like Nasri if we can get some good money for them.

Article is shit. Why on earth would we let millers contract run down?
Are we trying to lose millions or are they just making shit up? I think we all know the answer.

Kolarov won't be going anywhere!
There'll be a bomb in Bob's car before that happens.

I'd like to keep Dzeko, I think he's been one of the best of a bad bunch this season, where would we be without his goals?

People should understand that is absolute shite
Think about it that would leave a squad of 13 players meaning we would have to bring in 12 players. If one assumes they will be top class players to improve the squad then lets assume a £15m price tag per player then city are going to spend £180m next transfer window what utter rubbish!!!!!!!
I think we are likely to bring in 3/4 players max

Did the Rags win yesterday? Have we got a game today? How very obvious that the Rag Tops would come with a story like this.

It's made up bull shit that any moron could have come up with.
They have singled out players who have hardly featured or have not played well or have one year left on their contract.
Lazy journalism.

This is the Mirror trying to help the rags win the title, as they always do.
It is likely of course that there will be a big clearout in the summer, most likely to make way for some big signings; but many of those players won't be on that list. We have too many players of all ages on contracts & Txiki has been dropping 'off the record' hints about what will happen, but if we trim off the kids who won't make it plus the real fringe squad players then it will down to who we bring in. That will decide if any big names go or not. The fact that Mancini has already talked about giving Tevez a new contract & that Tevez' camp have said he is likely to accept such an offer, means that they certainly don't plan on getting rid of him. Of course if those contract talks break down; then it's different.
Lescott & Kolarov will only go if replacements come in. Same with Dzeko. His position must be much stronger now we have got rid of Mario.
Milner ? Can't see Bob releasing him; very useful player even when he's not playing that well, brilliant when on form.
I would like to think we would be looking to find a buyer for Nasri but I doubt it.
Sinclair, Kolo, Maicon, plus the hangers on & loads of kids most probably. Then Lescott, Kolarov etc if we get replacements lined up.
Kolarov will ask to leave if he doesn't play regularly from now on; he said so last season.

I have noticed that nearly all the media reports about City are reports about reports
It seems to go like this Paper A makes up some bullshit that then becomes the topic for all other papers to comment upon. It is done on a regular basis until in the media's eyes this is fact. They then question Mancini about this made up nonsense and mis-report what he has to say to make it fit in with their spurious claims and so the merry go round goes on
I watch the Mancini press interviews on the website and the number of questions he has to deal with about claims made in the press is ridiculous. He should just say "I dont comment upon incorrect press speculation" because how the media misconstrue what I know he has said to write what they do just shows how shit the written media is in the country

Aguero wants out also. The rags need a goalkeeper so I reckon Hart's off there. Silva must be missing Spain and Garcia doesn't like the rain. Micah Richards wants to play for Arsenal and Kompany will be so upset that we've cleared out 20 first-team players this summer he'll want to join Chelsea. I only hope Mido's available in the summer or I'll be seriously worried....

£12m off the wage bill?? More like £50m off the wage bill.
Tevez alone would be £10m saved in wages
- Tevez - £200k a week - £10m annually
- Dzeko - £100k p/w - £5m p/a - £15m saved
- Nasri - £100k p/w - £5m p/a - £20m saved
- Lescott - £90k p/w - £4.5m p/a - £34.5m saved
- Kolarov - £90k p/w - £4.5m p/a - £39m saved
- Maicon - £80k p/w - £4m p/a - £43m saved
- Sinclair
TO BE RELEASED (contracts expiring this summer):
- Kolo Toure £80k p/w - £4m p/a
- Santa Cruz £80k p/w - £4m p/a
- Bridge £80k p/w - £4m p/a
- Richard Wright
SOME DOUBTS (based on their contracts beginning to run down):
- Barry
- Milner
being quite conservative with the salaries it's about £60m a year
