Negative Media Attention Before Games

Looking at Chinners Bollox where it states that Vieira 'might' be going to Arsenal, why do these things always come out before our game?

We had the 'Players Clear-out/Dessertion' last week and now my lad has just told me that some media numpty, through Twatter, has said Mancini walked out yesterday. Obviously this isn't true but is it not getting a little tiresome before every game?

Yeah, I'm sure it is *cough, cough, cough*

What sort of affect does it have on our support?

It gets them starting threads on internet forums (smiley face).

Fucker, I'm going to start another negative thread now ;-)

The more they do it, the more it has a destabilising affect on the crowd, especiallywhen things are not going right. I vividly remember the Hughes games where he got sacked. Nobody was talking about the game, many were too busy watching Hughes in the dug-out and how he reacted to everything that happened. It's an extreme case but one that was built up by the media weeks before.

I enjoyed the particular day you mention, I must be honest. But you're right, it affects the fans at the match sometimes, that's why they do it.

We have a game every week so whenever it comes out ,whatever IT is, it is just before a game. The press/media just like stirring stories full stop and need to be ignored.

That James Cooper SKY guy is a bum.Didn't he say the rumours are all over the place about Mancini leaving. One idiot on Twitter shouldn't constitute a rumour and the question should have been thrown back at Cooper to ask him what rumours and ask whether he started them or why is he is peddling them.

My lad said it was someone who works for Sky who started them, but didn't say who. Quite strange then that Cooper brings the question up as it's not been reported anywhere of note and the fact Mancini is sat in front of him should've given him the answer.

Media love having a go at City and this is another example. If it's not about Mario when he was here, it's about FFP, Mancini leaving - been said for 3 and a half years by the press and he is our manager and will continue to be next season, unrest in the camp and no team spirit- then we produce numerous comeback wins including the greatest of them all v QPR and the title race.

It's all pathetic and I would have hoped that City fans take a lot of these stories with a pinch of salt.
There are a very small select number of journalists who know what they are talking about and they are - Sam Wallace - Independent, Henry Winter - Daily Telegraph, Simon Mullock - Daily Mirror, Martin Samuel - Daily Mail, Jonathan Northcroft - Sunday Times, Oliver Kay - The Times.

The rest unfortunately are either not very good overall or just lose the plot when they talk about City and talk absolute drivel about the club.
