That Is Some Record (Scum Related)

I know there will be a few who have no interest at all but I find this quite amazing. Even more amazing is that since he gave WBA a penalty in May 2005 at the Swamp, where they walked away with a draw, United have won every single game. To top that, Halsey did not get to referee the Rags again for near enough an entire year (next game, April 2006) when the Rags went on to beat Spurs away. Anyway:

REVEALED: Man United haven't lost for nearly 10 YEARS when Halsey is the referee... so Everton fans won't be too pleased to know who's in charge on Sunday!

Manchester United host Everton at Old Trafford this weekend. You might think David Moyes' talented and in-form side sound like a tricky test for the Barclays Premier League leaders. It seems you'd be very wrong. Why? Because Mark Halsey is due to referee the match.

Staggeringly, as Graham Poll points out in his look ahead to the weekend's action, you have to go back to August 31, 2003 for the last time Sir Alex Ferguson's men lost a game when Halsey has been the referee.

That game was a 1-0 defeat by Southampton at St Mary’s, when James Beattie's 88th minute header sank a United side including the likes of Eric Djemba-Djemba and Kleberson, while a young winger by the name of Cristiano Ronaldo was only able to make the bench.

Since that late summer Sunday on the south coast, United have played 21 times with Halsey holding the whistle. Their record in those games reads: Won 18 Drawn 3 Lost 0 Goals for 47 Against 11.

They have also won their last 13 games with Halsey as referee. The Hertfordshire official has awarded Fergie's men a penalty in the last three United matches he has taken charge.

And here's the really bad news for Everton fans making the hop down the East Lancs for the match this Sunday - United have won all three of their Premier League games against Everton with Halsey as referee. And they haven't conceded a single goal.

All in all, since Halsey first took charge of a Premier League match involving United in 2001 (a 2-1 home win against Charlton), the team's record reads: Played 28 Won 22 Drawn 4 Lost 1 Goals for 60 Against 20 Penalties for 5 Against 1 United red cards 0 Other teams' red cards 2.

Of course, there is no suggestion of foul play here, and records are there to be broken.

But all we'll say to Everton ahead of Sunday's clash is: good luck...

Well its definitely woth a couple of quid on there being a penalty in this game.

Gotta say, after that Liverpool game, and the way he gave the penalty for Fulham in our game, i'm as convinced as I need to be that this bloke is "at it" in one way or another. He is a shocking referee for us, and i'd be interested to see our record under Halsey.

One might say that united will have a good record under most referees, but you would expect it should even out to a rough approximation of uniteds form over 28 games at lets say just over 2 points a game. But under this ref, 73 points from 28 games is better form than united have ever shown at 2.6 points per game which really does beg the question...........

I just think he's a shit ref.

Shit refs tend to make more mistakes & a higher percentage of those mistakes traditionally tend go in favour of the various members of the red cartel.
