One up top with Yaya just off

Why have we not tried this even once this season? It consistently worked a treat during 2011/12.

Now that we're low on striking options again, and only have to keep a couple of them sweet, surely it's time to revisit this.

Wouldn't you think?

It didnt

It worked in 2 or 3 games towards the end of the season when there was an option to bring De Jong on and push yaya up the pitch.

It should have been used far more, and hasnt, from my recollection been used a single time this season which is bordering on the criminally insane by mancini

No because making logical choices isn't in Mancini thought process

It worked regularly, not just at Newcastle and the other games in which Yaya scored. His runs to get in front used to open up so much space for either Sergio or Mario to exploit.

Garcia can sit or, if you're not happy with that option, Zabs can do it once Richards comes back into the fold.

The fact that our strikers don't play together very well & Yaya seems to work better with them is a good reason for at least starting some games with this imo. We could always change later when the oppo is tired, thus gaining an attacking advantage.

I'm not sure about Yaya playing too far forward. I think he does his best work surging from midfield. Still I suppose it's worth a go but then that means Sergio missing out because you'd probably play Edin up front.
