I am with you ... in a sense that I will continue to hope till its mathematically impossible ... but that's the blue blood in my heart speaking ... my head says even if we put together 12/12 wins now, they won't let this one slip. You just have to hear Fergie's post match comments after today's game against Everton to realise that how much the last season hurt them ... and the team he put out today, just 3 days before they play Real Fucking Madrid at Bernebau said it all.

The difference this season has been, they have given us opportunities to close the gap but we have not taken them (they drew at Spurs and we go and drew our next two games against QPR and Liverpool) but when we have given them any chance, they've pounded on it smelling blood (we lose to Southampton and look how they came out against Everton) ... so with 12 games to go and 12 pts apart, the reversal of moods look very difficult ... but then again the fat lady hasn't sung yet so till she does ... here's to that hope and faith in miracles!

My head doesn't rule anything out until we run out of matches - my heart saw our challenge die at the weekend though.

Realistically it has been done and dusted since we lost our unbeaten home record to them. Add to that, we have not performed anywhere near how well we played last season; we'll need more than a miracle imo.

Bollox, we are shit. And to be honest we dont deserve it,
it's not just to buy individuals like Cavani/Falcao. The hole team need's a good spanking
and a reallity check but, the time for the wake up call is to late me thinks.

It's looked unlikely all season as we have never looked near the same side that played so well last season.I obviously hold out hope but lets be honest here it's fading by the game.

We had gone on a very nice run after the Sunderland defeat and i really felt that defeat at Sunderland was the turning point the realisation that every game was a must win and we had started to apply the pressure on the rags.I really did not see the last 3 games panning out the way they have, i'm still slightly stunned by the manner in which the team seems to have just thrown it away.

We aint winning no league IMHO Mancini needs to get his arse in gear and make the team finish strongly and try to put the FA Cup in the cabinet.

At the time I thought that it will come down to that match and probably them beating us or drawing at the swamp. That's how we won the league last season by doing the double on them !
However it now looks that they will win it with a good points differnce. It pains me to say it but one has to be realistic !!

At least this season we wont have to suffer until the last minute of the last match. With the pressure off, we can relax (sort of) and concentrate on having a good finish and winning the FA Cup.

Saturday was the first ever time I thought that Bob may not be the man to take us forward from here.
He has done a fantastic job and he will never be forgotten because of what he achieved with our club.
BUT Saturday, the players lacked desire and hunger. And as many of you will put that down to player attitude, it is ultimately the manager that need to manage them. He needs to keep giving them reason to fight, keep their spirits and desire high.
Mancini seems to be a strict coach, but he needs to find a way of motivating the players without bollocking them. It may be too late now, but the players need it. Some of the players seem like they have gone backwards rather than developing their talent. His man management style is no good for players with confidence issues.

No and I have no iodea why you ythink that. City have been average (by our standards) all season and have started to become pretty crap (by our standards). QPR, Liverpool and now the disgrace at Southamption indicates trouble at mill. Mancini is on his bike, in my opinion and City have a real fight for 4th, let alone 1st, which at 12 points behind is utterly gone. Playing as we did on Saturday, Leeds will get something on Sunday.

As much as I'd like to say it I can't see us winning the league now we've been below par in a lot of games and drawing to many . Need a good clear out and get some youngsters in .

The difference is 9 points given that we will win 6-1 at Old Trafford, They have the Champions League as an additional distraction.

All hope is not lost yet.

You must be on drugs thinking that will happen again the way we're playing!!! If you said the difference is 15 points I might've been able to take you seriously!

Winning the league is a lost cause, we now have to try and concentrate to come 2nd, Chelsea aren't far away!

I have a horrible gut feeling we will be scrapping it out for a champions league position this year, I hope I'm wrong, but Chesea and Tottenham look so good compared to our performances of late.

we should be planning for next year now, because this year its gone. but we have got to make sure we are in the top 3 at the end of this year and maybe win the fa cup. like some1 has said, we should of made a couple of big signing for this season, improve when you are top.

In April last year some of us "gave up hope" and got angry. They must have ended up a bit embarrassed:

Lest we forget last year's run in:

March: United take control as City lose ground
A win against Bolton was followed by defeat by Swansea for Manchester City, while victories over Tottenham and West Brom were enough to move Manchester United into pole position.

Phil McNulty
Chief football writer, BBC Sport It was also time for an old feud to be forgotten. It was time for pragmatism to overcome what many regarded as the unpalatable. It was time for Carlos Tevez.

In an effort to boost Manchester City's faltering title challenge, Mancini brought Tevez back into the fold for a crucial clash with Chelsea and, in a fairytale-esque return, he had a hand in the winner, providing the assist for Samir Nasir to fire home with only five minutes remaining to seal a 2-1 win.
That closed the gap on United to one point, but Mancini's men failed to build on that as successive draws with Stoke and Sunderland followed, which left them two points behind the defending champions, who had a game in hand over their rivals, heading into the penultimate month of the season.

April: Title race thrown wide open

Kompany scores the winning goal against United

Manchester United's lead at the top of the standings increased further as wins over Blackburn and QPR combined with a damaging 1-0 defeat for Manchester City at Arsenal looked to have effectively secured them the title, with the gap between the two sides an intimidating eight points.

Robbie Savage
BBC Sport The title race is not over yet. City have to go to Newcastle which is going to be a tough game. With two games left, the momentum is with City.

But a season that had already served up plenty of twists and turns was not finished just yet as Manchester United suffered a shock 1-0 defeat by fast-improving Wigan, and though they responded with a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa, they twice threw away two-goal leads to draw 4-4 with Everton.
Tevez, meanwhile, was making the most of his return to first team action as he scored four goals to help Manchester City to wins over West Brom, Norwich and Wolves, in the process closing the gap on Manchester United to three points.
A mouth-watering match between the two sides at Etihad Stadium on 30 April had City needing victory, while Ferguson knew a draw would suit his purposes.
That permutation perhaps proved Ferguson's undoing as his team selection suggested he was erring on the side of caution, and a Vincent Kompany header just before half-time was enough to hand City the win they needed to go top on goal difference.
A Yaya Toure brace gave Manchester City a 2-0 win at Newcastle and while Manchester United saw off Swansea by the same scoreline, Mancini's men were firmly in the driving seat.

May: City snatch Premier League title on goal difference

Sergio Aguero nets the title-winning strike

The two teams went into the final game of the season level on points, but City's vastly superior goal difference meant a win at home to QPR would guarantee a first Premier League title.
United, meanwhile, travelled to Sunderland where they had to better City's result.
After 90 nerve-shredding minutes of normal time, it looked like United would be celebrating a 20th league title, leading 1-0 at the Stadium of Light while City trailed 10-man QPR 2-1 at the Etihad.
However, two dramatic stoppage time strikes from Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero sent the blue half of Manchester into ecstasy and capped off a truly memorable tussle for the title.
