Bale + 10 Donkeys v Lyon

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Bale + 10 Donkeys v Lyon

Postby Ted Hughes » Thu Feb 14, 2013 9:58 pm

Two absolutely awesome free kicks & an awesome strike from the Lyon player .

If only we had a player who could hit a dead ball like that & actually be worth a place in the team.

Rest of the Spurs squad not worth wiping my arse on.

All three of those goals were special I agree. Bale is a light weight fucler who falls over in a stiff breeze but he can play a bit.

I thought he was dogshit v us & lazy; it put me off signing him, but having a player like him in our squad over a season would probably get us another 15/20 points with the quality we have compared to Spurs' useless mob of journeymen.

He blows hot & cold but at our place for instance, that's all we would need him to do. A month of brilliance followed by a month of average, followed by a month of brilliance & so on, would do fine. Just don't play him so much when he's out of form; solved.

He'd cost upward of £40 million if he went to an English team, I reckon. Would we be willing to spend that kind of money on a player like Bale?

All the talk I have heard was £50 million and I think he would look to move of Spurs don't make the chumps league. There is only Bale to get them there. We would have to fight of the likes of Madrid which wouldn't be easy

Small-minded I know, but I wouldn't give a penny to anyone who voted for these anti-competition rules that the PL are about to bring in. Not even for Bale.

I asked who could be our talisman a couple of weeks ago, tipped Bale myself, and I think three people agreed with me.

Just saying.

Edit: Five people agreed with me out of the sixty who voted.

I agree. We should go all out for him in the summer. I think he could be the difference in games where the oppo put 10 men behind the ball and we struggle to break them down. Just give him the ball and watch him run through their lines (and hopefully score a screamer)

We should have bid the whole lot for Bale 2 years ago when we qualified and they didnt. However that ship has sailed now and if/when he does move it will be somewhere other than us - ie Real, Barca or god forbid to the dark side.

Thing is, any decent team know that if you mark him out of the game, you stop at least 50% of Spurs threat. In our side (or rags, Chelsea, real etc) you couldn't do that.

If Spurs miss out on top 4, we should put £40m in cash on Levy's desk on May 20th.

We can forget about that now imho. We simply cannot afford to spend that much money on 1 player anymore not with UEFA and the Premier League just waiting to slap us down for overspending. We could probably get him after offloading a lot of the deadwood but I think we have more holes to plug than that.
