Top 3

Realistically most teams want a top 3 finish, not 4th where there is a potentially tricky qualifying round.
In all the hype about title challenge, it seems to have gone unnoticed that if we lose today and, as expected, Spurs beat West Ham, we will only be 1 point ahead of Chelsea and 2 ahead of Spurs. Slipping to 4th is a distinct possibility.
Do we have the mental strength to stay in the top 3? I am not so sure, this season we have never really put a good run together and we have never really looked like challenging for the title. All season the hype has been Battle of manchester for the title, but the reality has been no-where near.

How dare you suggest such a thing!
Of course its a real possibility and it IS something the team should be well aware of,i'm hoping they still keep pushing despite IMVHOTLIG and secure second.

With Arsenal winning yesterday, are they now in the mix with nothing else to play for?
1 Man Utd 27 33 68
2 Man City 26 24 53
3 Chelsea 26 27 49
4 Tottenham 26 14 48
5 Arsenal 27 22 47
I can see Spurs getting a few decisions against them on Monday, maybe us today.

Chelsea are going to get a thumping today, Beefy. And then we'll push on and have a good end to the season.*
*Warning: this prediction comes with a government health morning.

I'm hoping so as well. A 7 point advantage with 33 to play for is a decent position to be in. *You never know, with Pussies bad back and Shreks septum problem then we may even have a run to the finish.

Reminds me of that old line about Ronald Reagan: 'If he's telling the truth, why do they keep cutting bits off his nose...?'

Goal difference will usually be the best indicator from half way through the season and onwards, as to where teams will finish. It usually highlights teams who are over achieving I reckon.
We should be ok for 2nd if we win today.
Played Goal Difference Points
1 Man Utd 27 33 68
2 Man City 26 24 53
3 Chelsea 26 27 49
4 Tottenha 26 14 48
5 Arsenal 27 22 47
6 Everton 27 7 42
7 West Bro 27 2 40
8 Liverpool 27 15 39
