Don't forget Neymar too, so according to papers we have placed initial bids of £40m for each of the three ... Neymar, Cavani and Falcao ... yeah right, sure, whatever!

Neymar is out, Mancini has apparently said in the guardian that he's not ready for the premier league.

Both Cavani and Falcao (esp Falcao) are alittle on the old site for my taste when we are talking close to 50m.
They are both on the wrong side of 25 and will have little to no sell-on value after the contract has run its course.
Both greath players though, was really annoyed that we did not get Falcao when he went to AM. Still, I'd prefer us to buy younger players like Christian Eriksen and give Guidetti a chance.
To answer your question, yes I think they'd be a great fit:-) One is a poacher and the other is Dzeko (hopefully better).
The big question is will they play well together in OUR formation/style. Using 50m on Cavani seems idiotic when we can only seem to have great flow with two small/quick forwards like aguero/tevez and not utilize Dzeko to his full potential. Dzeko IS a great player but we are not utilizing him I think, so why use 50m on a similar player if he does not fit our scheme?

Can't make my mind up on this one. With the 3 we have Mancini should have us scoring more, but we clearly lack something.
Not sure if it were my money I'd be giving bobby another 30m+ striker off his recent form with strikers.
Just to add my reasoning. He didn't like the attitude of a 25m striker in Ade. Played him so little we lost a fortune on him then replaced him with another 25m striker with a bad attitude in Balo.
Has had fillings out with Tevez and turned him from our best player to a shadow of himself.
Aguero and dzeko have both been patchy since he bought them, dzeko in and out the team and Kun having a sub par 2nd season.
Nasri he's not gotten the best out of by a long shot.
I'm not compiling a bobby out list, but if I were the owners I'd be pointing this out and letting him know he better get this one right or he's getting no more attackers until he coaches what he's bought.

seems like this might be a bit of a spin job. neymar may not be interested in playing here, and isn't it chelsea that's more hot on his heels? they're the team with the most top brazilians in england, no?
in other words, if we can't get him, at least have him go to real or barca, which would be a better guess anyway, i think.

I would not mind either both are quality but as mentioned above by Fesan the money involved, 50 million being mentioned for players who are 26/27 already.
If we sign them who am i to complain but we could source better value than that in my opinion.I would not be opposed to looking at other exciting players like Marco Reus, Romelu Lukaku or El Shaarawy all of them are already performing at a very high level and are much younger players.

I would take both in an instant.
The filth paid £20M for a 29yo with an horrific injury record, look at them now.

Didn't he replace Aguero?

Just watching atletico now, really surprised to see the amount of work falcao puts in around the pitch. He has a phenomenal work rate, up there with tevez in his pomp.
If we could keep carlito for his last year and get him back playing with a swagger, with someone like Falcao partnering him, and Aguero and Dzeko to keep it fresh, I think we would have a great season in front of goal with defenses being completely unable to settle.
Agree about the age thing though. Neither Cavani nor Falcao are big box office, so £50m would be a fucking ridiculous fee to pay, although you would surely certainly get a return from Falcao......he looks like the english game was made for him

The only reason falcao isn't box office mate is because he is yet to make his big move.
If he comes to city and is as much of a success, he'll be instant box office.
Just like Drogba, Van horse face, Henry etc.

Wouldn't surprise me if we get neither and spend 30m on Benteke instead or something ridiculous like that.

As Pretty Boy Lee put on Facebook last week, we should cut out the middle man and buy the striker Atletico would buy to replace Falcao. It would save us a lot of moolah.

Same old media gossip, three fantastic players yes but every club is interested in Neymar in some way and Falcao is linked with a big money move to Chelsea. I see it every single time; anyone who is rumoured in a big money move is linked with city whether we want him or not. Just because we have money doesnt mean we are going to buy every player rated 20+ million. Would be interested in either Falcao or Cavani but would like the gossip to stop name dropping city at every available opportunity!

I saw a game earlier in the season (when Falcao was in double figures for goals) and he was up front on his own and being triple marked but still influencing the match. I wouldn't mind one bit if he came here.

Hey, i want him, been wanting him for 4-5 seasons. Was shocked when AM got him cheap. But he is old and 50m is A LOT.
Think what we could get for that amount?
