Ignorant 'experts'

This week's contribution - Ray Wilkins and Niall Quinn on SKY pre-match. Both slated Mancini for his team selection saying it gave the advantage to Chelsea, who they now expectd to win. Neither had the wit to see that the formation would put Yaya in his advanced position - Neville spotted this immediately. Both slated Rodwell who could 'hardly get a game' - both blindingly ignorant of the facts that he has been injured for month and that he was obviously very lively in training etc.

By half time they had seen the error of their idiocies. But I often wonder - how much money do these guys get for sitting in a seat for 2 hours with 2 20-minute spells of talking pure shite?

If everybody here was entirely truthful they would probably have agreed with Wilkins & Quinn, if I started a thread last week suggesting that we start with Kolo, Rodwell and Garcia and also drop Tevez to the bench and dont use Dzeko at all I would have been laughed off the board.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

To be fair, I don't think John is saying that, he is more alluding to the fact that they couldn't figure out the formation or did not know, or recognise, why Rodwell had not played. The post below was from the match thread and if I can work out the formation, then so should they.

That team seems a little confusing. We seem to be missing somebody?

Add to that Shearer's comments last night that Rodwell should have stayed at Everton for another season to get more games...

Formation looked pretty sensible to me considering how Chelsea usually set up and the talent they have in attack. We shut the supply off resulting in them trying long balls which were easier to defend than trying to deal with Mata and Hazard running at you constantly.

Wow did this really happen? If so what a truly

The comments on Rodwell last night by Shearer just highlighted his lack of knowledge. Stay at Everton for another year? To do what exactly? Learn how to hump the ball, play dogs of war football, park the bus and win fucl all as usual?

Id wager Rodwell's probably learned more from being at City this past 7 months than he did at Everton in the past 3 years - noticeably at City he's had his whole routine changed to try to avoid all the injuries he was picking up, which began of course whilst at Everton.

For some unknown reason I found myself listening to talkshit yesterday, with some no mark called Georgie Bingham and the "experts" on there made Chelsea favs to win it seemed - this news just in, City dont lose too many at home in the Prem; 1 defeat in 26 months by my count, so to see all the so-called experts tipping Chelsea up did give me a good laugh.

Neville may be a red nosed t**t but his analysis of a game is way above what Wilkins or Quinn could offer. I also felt sorry for Pat Nevin last night, stuck with those two fookin imbeciles in Shearer and that utter po faced t**t Murray, who quite frankly is stealing a living in the media. C**t. That is all.

I thought Nevin, in the bit he did about (Chelsea player) passing it too soon to (other Chelsea player) was the best bit of punditry I've seen in a long time on MOTD (1 or 2). Never does Shearer make any constructive remarks like that.

I dont think I'm being too biased when I say we have outclassed Chelsea in th Charity Shield, and also in the 0-0 at the Bridge. So why these idiots make Chelsea favourites at our ground is beyond me. Is it bias or just some ignorant failure to realise that - 'wake up - City are the better team'?

Taking Kompany's and Barry's injuries into account I don't believe you would've been laughed off the board.

I was delighted when I saw the team sheet yesterday as it seemed the penny had finally dropped with Mancini that we have been overrun in midfield in the 'big games' this season because we have been outnumbered.

Gary Neville, Pat Nevin and Lee Dixon are decent pundits.
Most others are pretty poor, Shearer the worst of the bunch.

I actually was baffled by the team sheet , but then it became very apparent why, after the first 6 minutes or so.

I admit to my ranting mistakes,I think some fuckign pundits should man up and do the same , fucking turds they are.

Its laughable John, almost as though our home record in the Prem has gone unnoticed or refuses to be acknowledged.

Chelsea under Benitez are a bits and pieces team, who just scraped by Sparta Prague 3 days prior and had come unstuck at Reading and Newcastle - hardly Prem fortresses. We've not been hitting the heights of late but the shocker at Southampton wasnt on our own patch either.

One final point that somebody correctly made on Twitter yesterday - if Nastasic was English the media would be having a collective wankathon on his ability and potential - for a 19 year old he's been superb this season - but I consistently see media types write him off as a wasted signing. Do they actually watch this kid play at all?

Learn a foreign language if you want good punditry. Just about any foreign language will get you a better standard of 'punditry' than you'll get in English, even Swahili....

I can't imagine you ranting Carl.

Btw I'll hold my hands up admit to my mistake of overpraising Nasti after the game, as I've seen a video now & it was mostly Garcia doing the defending I was mistaking for Nasti from the other end of the pitch & I thought it was Garcia who went flying in like a twat & gave Chelsea the break which almost won them the match, when it was actually Nasti.

I've downgraded his defending back to 'average' again.

Remember when Sky and the BBC used to offer alternate commentary on the red button?

I really wish there was an option for just crowd noise. The noises they make tends to tell you more than the pundits. I've watched games with Italian and Swedish commentary that were more imformative then most of what ITV, BBC, ESPN and SKY offer.

Gary Neville is the best pundit. Never liked him as a player for obvious reasons, but he's been excellent since he's been on Sky. His knowledge of the game of the great, and he's quite comfortable praising City when need be, and criticising United.

Graeme Souness is quite good a lot of the time too. After him and Neville, you're struggling for good 'experts'.

Some of the pundits out there are truly awful. Hansen and Lawrenson are so out of touch with today's game it's embarrassing, particularly with their belief that Liverpool are somehow relevant these days. Niall Quinn, for some reason, massively dislikes us. And could Jamie Redknapp please learn to speak properly! Is there not anyone at Sky who could tell him there is no player at Arsenal called 'Feo'?!?!

Nasty got skinned once in the whole 90 mins....but that was only when Ripleys came onto the pitch....thats a fact.
