Love how he has come out and slated the fans and board, someone needs to get a grip of that club. Impressed by rafa and shows he has the balls.

Reckon he's just got himself the sack. If so, he has to be congratulated. He'll get a nice wedge, away from the toxic atmosphere at CFC, and he'll have done no damage to his reputation as no-one can work under those conditions. Well done Rafa....

Gone in the morning knowing Abramavich.Do any of the fans have any ill will towards Roman or is everything being directed at Rafa? Abramavich is running a circus are the fans even concerned or are they just turning a blind eye to the way he operates ? It all seems a bit convieniant that Rafa is getting the abuse.

I have a few mates who are Chelsea fans, particularly a good mate of mine, and from what he says, most fans don't agree with the constant changing of managers, but they've been challenging for trophies every year since Abramovich took over, which is the main thing. Although they would like to have a manager that stays for a few years to allow the squad to settle. They also all want Mourinho back and are confident he will be in the summer.

But they do HATE Benitez and want him removed immediately. It seems to stem from comments he made about Chelsea and their fans when he was manager at Liverpool. They almost want the club to be unsuccesful in the short term if it means he leaves.

Personally, I think it's all a bit OTT. Players and managers are interviewed by the media so often it's almost guaranteed they'd make a comment on another club at some point (e.g. David Platt's comments about us). But Benitez is a decent manager and would probably do a good job at Chelsea if given time by Abramovich and the fans, which isn't going to happen.

Giving him the 'interim' title was a poor move, which never helped his cause. It means both fans and players know he's going to leave soon, and so they can show him no respect if they wish with no repercussions.

I hope the players don't use this as an excuse to give the rags a free ride to the cup semi.

The title of "Interim Manager" limited any payment liability by Chelsea. It also undermined the credibility of Benitez who I believe felt he could do a job and get back into the game at the top level. I think it reflects worse on Chelsea than Benitez who was expressing an honest opinion of the situation. None of us know what has gone on behind the scenes.

You'd think from the way the media reported it that he was a rabid frothing madman. After seeing the actual interview it was a composed a measured response .... rant my arse

Chelsea ... The only club where Manager of the Month is a job title.

Everything Benitez said was correct, my only surprise is that Abramovich has not sacked him yet because effectively Rafa is telling the owner that he along with the fans is responsible should they not get in the Champions League by not being supportive and for giving him the title of 'Interim'.

Abramovich should just be the manager and when he does it and messes up, he might finally realise that he knows fuck all about football and should leave it to the likes of Jose, Ancelotti, Benitez who clearly do.
