When you come on with over half an hour to go when we are already 4-0 up against inferior opposition at home the least I would expect is to notice that you are on the pitch!

Wait, he started?
nvm, read it wrong.
I have not been impressed with him at all this season, but there are a lot of players like him who look great in a small team and crap in a good one, take Charlie Adam for example, couldn't even make the step up to a midtable side.

He has been ruined by us. whatever he had we have mishandled it and I feel sorry for him, as he as caused no issue for US.

Too much too soon for the lad coming into a squad of this strength. Silly signing all round he would have flourished if left but dont think he got potential to be in a top sides squad. Sad but true.

how could you possibly know that City have ruined him?
if he even trained and played as good as the others he would get his chance and as KK says in the OP, he had an opportunity yesterday and was noticable by doing nothing.

I still do not understand why the fuck we signed him... and if we absolutely had to sell AJ and buy another winger why not get Dyer instead from Swansea who is miles better? I just cannot understand it... everytime I think about last summer's transfer window fiasco and how much it fucked up our season my blood starts to boil.

He came on and played wide left and did nothing, he then got moved to right wing back, which lasted about 5 minutes till Mancini realised he couldn't play that position. Then Milner came on to play wing back and someone, I think it was Razak, then shouted to Sinclair and pointed towards the right hand side, which in my mind and most other people sat near us, was telling him to go fetch a bovril and 2 hot dogs from the back of the East Stand.
This was his chance to shine but he offered nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Thank god people can finally say it.
I've been saying for weeks that even in cameos I'd expect one nice pass or to beat a man just once.
AJ did this everytime, you don't need a season of settling to do one stopover.

I think he did ok for someone who has hardly kicked a ball at any level for 70% of a season & is at a new club.
I can't judge Sinclair on the scraps Mancini is giving him & anyone who says they can is a liar.

Has Doug given you reason to think he isn't upto it in training or have you just made this up ?

I don't know if we have 'ruined' him, but he's certainly much better than he looked yesterday. I think maybe he struggles to cope with our movement (its fluidity) in midfield and upfront. That would only come with playing time, which he doesn't get, of course. But I have to say I also feel sorry for him (which is never a good place to be).

Wide players need to know they are wanted, confidence is everything for a winger , IMHO we have battered the lad.has he been given the run all players needs.

No, he hasn't been given a run, and yes, his confidence must be low. But the question is: why hasn't he been given a run? Mancini sees him everyday in training and must not 'fancy' him for some reason. Inexplicable, having sanctioned his arrival at our place, but there you go.

He will go in the summer for me swap him for Ashley Williams

Just to put this thread into perspective & to give an indication of how much bollox is being talked, what some people are saying is that Scott Sinclair showed he isn't good enough to play v Barnsley.
Whether he's good enough to play for City, I have no idea but I know for fucking sure he is good enough to play against Barnsley.
Therefore, if he's struggling a bit v Barnsley, it means we are not seeing him at his best in a City shirt.
Those who don't think he is good enough to play v a Championship team should actually check out his performances in the Championship & his record for Swansea in the Championship which reads: P50 Goals 27.
It is not possible to judge the player on this season. It's not fair to do so. Every week he is getting potentially worse because he doesn't play. Whatever ability he has got, he needs games to get it back & lots of them & he probably needs to sign elsewhere to get them.

How can we judge someone on 20 minutes of football? Like Ted, I won't be throwing anything at SS until he has a decent run of games. Getting a run of games though is a different matter.

some sense. I missed the game and was going to ask got SS did but obviously no need now because of this thread.
SS needs to start a few games in the league, maybe against weaker opposition just so he can be given a chance and actually offers something. if he gets a few games against weaker sides and contributes nothing, then we can call it case closed.

Thank god for Ted's post.
When Sinclair came on yesterday you could actually see how eager he was to make an impression. His work rate was exceptional. He was running around like a headless chicken. He just barely got a touch - and when he did get a touch he understandably probs tried to do a bit too much. It's not his fault. He probably can't remember what its like to be on a football pitch at the moment. It's impossible to judge him when he's barely played 90 minutes all year.
I personally think that if he was used as an impact sub a lot more frequently he'd actually probably do a half decent job.
