Yes Venky's have got rid of their third Manager this season with the removal of Michael Appleton. They really have turned into the biggest joke club in football Jack Walker will be spinning in his grave.

not much sympathy for Appleton after he walked out on Blackpool to go there after a similar period.

And the best bit is, under FFP and all the rules, they could still be owners

A bit sad really, love them or hate them, they probably have the most history of any club in the country. (unless you're a scum or red scouse glory hunter of course).

I don't like to see any club being run into the ground and I have a soft spot for them, it's not nice or good to see happen to any club.

I'd counter that with Preston.

There would be so many great opportunities for Swales these days, especially now, with ffp; he has a ready made excuse to pocket all the money without everyone trying to lynch him.

He must be gutted he's dead.

3 managers in a season is feck all ... we managed 5 in 97-98, Blackburn need to step up their game

Still plenty of time.

Probably needs a 'stress related' resignation in between sackings if they'e going to pull it off though.

If I was them, I would appoint Brian Robson next.

Well judging by the length of Appletons stay they could manage to sack another 3 before the end of the season.

1996-97, actually. And two of them were caretakers.

They have had 3 full-time & 2 caretakers, equalling us. One of those caretakers will be on his second stint until the end of the season.

Does that include Dave Bassett who only managed us from his interview until he woke up in a cold sweat the following morning?

That brings back memories too. Previous to that, a relative of mine used to call Tony Book 'The Undertaker' due to his reappearence at times of Swales related doom.
